"I booked this room before reading the reviews and was quite frankly terrified it was going to a disaster! I even thought about bringing sleeping bags lol. I needn’t have worried. Whilst the bed wasn’t the most comfortable, the room was spacious and clean and the location is perfect if you are visiting central Reading. Just be aware it is above a bar so the music was quite loud but it finished at midnight and then we had a good nights sleep. "

"The White Hart is a true countryside gem, located in a quiet and peaceful setting surrounded by beautiful woodlands. It’s the perfect getaway from the chaos of the city, with a calm atmosphere and traditional charm that make the hotel feel both unique and romantic. As you drive into the car park, you’ll find a lovely pub and restaurant on the left-hand side, while the rooms are located just behind it. The building has retained the original character and interiors of a traditional 14th-century property, which adds so much charm to the experience. The rooms are cosy yet spacious, and we were lucky enough to have a small outdoor terrace, which really added extra value to our stay. Another highlight was the breakfast...absolutely 5/5 stars. The ingredients were high quality, everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. Best of all, it was included in the price! Overall, a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to come back."

"We stayed in a standard double room, which was spacious, very clean, with a super comfortable bed! I slept like a log! The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a swim in the pool, which although small, was excellent for swimming lengths and was a nice temperature. We ate at the restaurant, which served pub grub and was very tasteful. So why not 5 stars? The toilet in the room was separate to the shower and bath, and also the sink. It would have been nice to have a little sink in the toilet, as in the night you had to feel around for 2 rooms! There was no room service at all. There was a page on the app but in the restaurant the server told us you'd have to order downstairs and take the food up yourself. Most concerning, the pool was unmanned. No one was in that area at all. We had to sign a waver form before using it, so don't use the pool on your own. There was a panic pull outside the sauna but if you had an accident or you needed help away from the pull cord, I'm not sure how long it would be before someone found you.Lastly, there is a small amount of parking on site but you need to phone in advance to book this at £21. Overall a lovely hotel and we would stay here again."
