Lovely hotel, full of history. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was light and airy with a big bathroom. Will definitely stay again in the future!
Very nice place to stay, stunning relaxing location and very handy access to all main routes. Very Clean and most important very comfortable bed giving a wonderful nights sleep. Staff were very helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Look forward to staying again when in the area
We had one night and it was the best sleep we have had for a long time, staff very polite, the driveway to the abbey must of been about 1/4 of a mile long, bedroom had a view across the field's and court yard, will definitely stay again
We stayed for 2 nights, we had a lovely stay, room was clean but quite small. Breakfast was very nice, a good selection of hot and cold items.
Only complaint would be the lunch we had, we had a BLT, the bread was very disappointing (your cheap white sliced bread) for the cost I would have expected a nice bakery loaf.
The properties grounds and accommodations were stunning. The staff was beyond helpful. We had the breakfast buffet in the main dining hall. It felt like a real find. 4 star accommodations and services at a bargain price.
Absolutely beautiful surroundings and grounds, and because of the large grounds it was very peaceful. The staff were also very lovely, accommodating and just generally helpful.
The dinner i had from the bar was very tasty if a little pricey.
The interior desperately needs updating but the room was pretty clean and did the job.

A beautiful hotel & setting
Unfortunately in today’s climate of high costs of materials there are areas which require some repair & maintenance this does not however spoil the overall experience as staff are welcoming & helpful.

Only 4 guests in entire hotel. Spookily quiet. Comfy room and location exceptional. Looks like lots of return work being done in some areas but bedroom generally good.
Amazing Victorian Gothic pile within interesting grounds with the remnants of tge abbey and old lady chapel made into a parish church. Sir Christopher Wren once owned the esrate and nemvers of hus familty memorialised there. The hotel is undergoing upgrading and offers a good standard of accommodation.
Amazing property set in tranquil woodlands.
Room was lovely with high ceilings and superb decorated. Some attention to details are much needed though: no remote control, kettle wasn't working, soap dispenser empty.
Building is fantastic, staff were great, my aircon wasn’t working and it was really hot so they moved my room with no issue

Very good staff in this hotel. It is still being renovated and some areas need rapid improvement. No hot water on one morning but these things can happen. It was resolved. Overall a good hotel with its main asset being the very friendly and helpful staff.

Not bad. Not great
No tea and coffee facilities in room. Room overall comfortable, clean and met needs. Overall hotel pleasant, clean with friendly staff. Some maintenance needs doing as a little run down in part. Beautiful building.
Building was amazing. Rooms seemed to have be recently updated and were comfortable, cleanliness not their stronge point, ended up changing rooms twice due to this. Rooms need to be checked by house keeping management before guests are checked in. Breakfast was good although seemed disorganised and need someone to oversee the staff.
The staff here are so wonderful, yes the property itself may need some updating (which is being undertaken), but welcoming and lovely staff make such a difference.
The grounds are spectacular especially in the sunny weather, and the outside space being open to the guests is lovely.
My only real criticism is having stayed before I cannot see a material difference in the solo base rate room and the next level up double, other than £20.
The food is quite expensive, but it is delicious and speedy.
A shame that the bar didn’t have any beer on draft. The food I had was good and the room was lovely as was the hotel in general. I couldn’t find anyone in reception (or anywhere else) on the morning I checked out so I just left the key on a desk in reception as they didn’t seem to have a key drop box.

Very nice room which was clean and modern and grounds around the hotel are beautiful but seriously needs some work on service. Breakfast cold and no staff around for help on anything.
Overall fine for a night but I think will be a lot better once renovations are complete.

Needs an overhaul. Food awful.
The hotel is beautiful from the outside and holds lots of history. The inside was clean and tidy but a mishmash of old and new. The room was small with a standard double bed but very clean.
The staff were helpful and friendly.
The food however was terrible. We ate in the restaurant in our first night, ordering risotto.
This was completely tasteless and sloppy. I was so disappointed and at a cost of £19 each, an expensive disappointment.
