"First, the staff was extremely nice and professional, the low rating is not a reflection of them. We were on a cruise that docked overnight so wanted we a room off the ship. It had great ratings on Expedia. We were told that since we booked with Expedia, we were VIP. However, our room was like an isolated jail cell. The courtyard area ( pictured on site ) was beautiful and simple. Our room was VERY old and beat down, and horribly located. The linen seemed clean but, the room itself ( furniture and layout ) and location was so terrible, we ended not even staying in the room and just accepting that we blew our money. We were able to at least use the parking pass for our rental car. The surrounding area had a lot of homeless population and walking to the Foodland (10 min ) did not feel safe ( we are from Miami ). Bottom line, this place was like a Motel 8 or Knighs Inn. So if you want budget friendly, it will do. However, if you’re on a dream vacation to Hawaii, just skip right past this. This rating again is not for the staff, it was for the condition and location of our room."
"Pretty nice relaxing place. The other reviews a bit exaggerated. Woke up with massive bug bites after every night slept there. There is an extra fee. Didn’t use the yoga. Not a place probably for just a couple nights. Breakfast was good!"
"As soon as you enter the property you noticed how well maintained it is and how wonderful the staff is, welcoming and informative! I loved the thoughtful bowl of orchids with bobby pins for your hair! We had a suite for the three of us and it was very spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. There are great food options right on the property and the beach is right across the street with bicycles you can use.
I would recommend the Maui Coast Hotel as a very pleasurable place to stay."
"Great property. Convenient location, perfect courtyard area. Pool was nice and very clean. Room was clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back again"
"The room was about 100 degrees when we opened the room up and the breeze was warm and humid. The AC took all night to cool the room off. Maintenance said AC was at max. capacity. Shared the room with a cute green lizard too. Not a good start. Nice room but sparce kiktchen."
Hana-Maui Resort, a Destination by Hyatt Residence
10/10 Excellent
"The screen doors were torn and off track. The curtains didn’t close all the way. The spa was too expensive. The staff was fantastic! Especially Hunter, Kai, and the two young ladies that gave us wonderful rides on the golf carts. The yoga class was excellent. The air conditioning needed to be cooler as needed, and the bathrooms were WAY too hot. The lady that checked us in and out was great! The pool and hot tub were wonderful."
