"We have been staying at The Feathers fairly frequently over the past 5 years, as it is very close to where our family live. The hotel accommodation is very basic, but adequate for our needs. On this last visit we were appalled that when returning to our room after a day out, it had not been made up or cleaned. This is not the first time this has happened. We always leave our DO NOT DISTURB NOTICE ON THE DOOR when we retire in the evening and turn it round to RISE AND SHINE when we leave the following morning. Sadly the staff do not seem to do do a final sweep of the rooms before 11.00am to ensure that any rooms have been missed. If they see a do not disturb sign on a door around 10.00am, they just presume you do not want to be disturbed for the rest of the day. Knowing this from previous experience we always inform Reception on going out, that we have vacated our room for the day, and as they did this time, they replied, I will make sure the cleaners are aware. Alas, this time it was not."
