"I needed a hotel near the Blackball Ferry terminal to be able to take a ferry from Victoria to Port Angeles, WA. This hotel fit my needs perfectly. After checking in, I enjoyed walking around the downtown area, including getting some fun tourist shopping in, caught some dinner and visited The Empress Hotel and gardens which is beautiful. My main reason for going to Victoria was to visit Butchart Gardens as my first visit years ago was amazing. It didn’t disappoint this trip either. The front desk staff were great and the room was a suite with full kitchenette, bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom. The furnishings are a little dated but very comfortable. The bed was soft and I had a great night’s sleep. I enjoyed breakfast at the adjoining restaurant after checking out, just before I walked the two blocks to the Blackball ferry terminal with my luggage."

"We had an excellent day at the Château in Victoria. The hotel had great staff and accommodated our early check-in request without issue. Our room had an AC unit which kept us cool throughout the night and the room was much larger than I initially thought. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was a shuttle to take you to various places around downtown and the gentleman who drove us (I forgot to get his name) was so proactive when interacting with guests and helping make their stay more enjoyable. We didn’t get to enjoy the restaurant upstairs because our stay was short, but the perks around happy hour pricing for guests all evening is definitely something will come back for. I highly recommend for future travellers!"

"Rooms were clean. I had an inside room and it was extremely quiet for a city center property. The staff was excellent. Just a very short walk (5 min or less) to the harbour, the Empress etc. Street market just steps outside the front door. And all the restaurants and shops you can ask for right there. There was some minor construction and maintenance going on in main entrance but it didn’t impact access in any way. Elevator is old and slow (to be expected in an older property), but I took the lovely wide staircase every time anyway. Will definitely stay again. Great location, clean, great value!"
