The restaurant and bar were both excellent and offered a good variety of choices. The staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel was old, but very well upgraded and maintained. We were very comfortable there. The staff gave it an atmosphere of home. The location made it easy to walk to downtown and the lovely nearby park.

We knew there would be no elevators, AC, or microwaves in the rooms, but were pleasantly surprised that the refrigerators were generously large, two fans were already in the room, and the staff were exceptional. Our stay was delightful and the whole family enjoyed the special care the front desk staff and housekeeping put into our stay.

It was a great place to stay. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was a great place to have dinner and a drink. Just a note, if you have an issue with stairs, not a place for you to stay. No elevator and there are stairs to get into the hotel. Our group had no problems. We had a great stay.

It is an older hotel so expect no elevators but the helpful staff will gladly help you to your room, and the noise between walls floors might be more noticeable because of that but the charm, coziness, pricepoint & staff friendliness makes up for that. Close to Beacon Hill Park & not far to beaches or behind Parliment buildings makes it a nice location.
