"We asked to change rooms when we arrived because the room overlooked the inner courtyard and restaurant rather than the ocean. There was no liquid soap in the bottle in the shower. On our 2nd and last morning at 8am I arrived for the FREE breakfast to find there was no milk. When I went to the coffee station there was no cream at all. I reported this to a staff member and he said I could check in the front office fridge. So on my own I went and discovered 6 unopened 1 litre Coffee Cream cartons and two full plastic bins of creamers. I took a couple creamers and went back and reported this to the same staff member but nothing changed. There were still 2 more FREE Breakfast hours for the many others who came after me. I was disappointed by these parts of our stay."

"The thermal waters were amazing!! The gym was not up to par - It was just a hotel room with a few machines in it. It was very makeshift. The location was perfect."

"The rooms were clean and smelled fresh, but they felt small and outdated for a two-queen setup. I previously stayed at Travelodge in Kamloops, and their rooms were more spacious while still being very clean. One issue we experienced was the smell of food preparation from a nearby building coming into our room. There was no microwave initially, and although one was provided upon request, we had to place it on the floor due to limited table space, which was inconvenient. Because the building is older, sound travels easily—you can hear conversations from outside, and likely from inside as well. On the positive side, the breakfast was really good, and the staff assisting at the buffet were friendly and helpful. However, our experience with one staff member—a tall white male at the information desk—was not pleasant, as he came across as rude. We were also incorrectly charged for two nights of parking despite staying only one night, as well as an extra fee for a child that had already been paid. Thankfully, the checkout staff resolved these issues for us. Overall, the hotel didn’t feel very kid-friendly. It may be more suitable for older guests who appreciate historic buildings, as it is quite old (possibly around 40-50 years? though I’m not certain)."

"The Magnolia is an oasis in a landscape of average and okay hotels. Exceptional staff make the stay special and the hotel and its services are all excellent. Highly recommended for those who know quality and want it."
