"Our first stay but definitely not our last. 'Never judge a book by its cover'. From the motorway, through the industrial estate you may be excused for thinking your sat nav is having a joke. The hotel is not visible until suddenly a left turn into the driveway a beautiful stone building appears. Ample 'free parking' is available. The 2pm check in went smoothly ( note if you have mobility issues please request a ground floor room in the absence of a lift). The staff were most helpful and friendly in every department, reception, restraunt, bar and events. The rooms were well appointed and equipped and for an added giggle the TV thought we were in Amsterdam and the bathroom shaving socket thought we were in Australia. Issues quickly sorted when reported to reception!. At breakfast there was a good selection of hot and cold food and the waiting staff were very prompt and efficient on clearing the tables and dinner was well worth waiting till the 6pm opening time. In the warm weather and in the absence of air conditioning a supply of dans was available. Away from the bar and functions the bedroom was quiet and the beds comfortable. The junior suite had the luxury of a bath but hadn't yet had its makeover with modern usb sockets to charge mobile devices. If like me you have feather allergies please note it on the booking as they offer the luxury and comfort of duck down pillows, luckily I had my antihistamines.
