"Reasonable price, great location for easy access to Keswick centre, the room and bathroom were a small but reasonable size as well as clean, comfy and well equipped. The shower was nice and powerful. The pub/restaurant itself was decent with nice staff and food. The only points to note are that parking is very limited and extremely tight which can be an issue in peak season. I had to park a few mins walk away albeit it was at least still free. Also I stayed during a heat wave and my room was a lot hotter than other places in the hotel. A fan is provided which helped. The hotel is also on the main road so there is vehicle noise but a good pair of foam earplugs did the trick for me."

"First impression of the hotel at check-in was exceptional- Stephen was very welcoming and friendly, and we knew it was going to be an incredible stay! In fact, encounters with the staff from bartender, restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly, engaging, and positive. The location was serene and relaxing with incredible 360-degree views of mountains and pastures! Inside, there were several cozy areas to relax and unwind. I would also recommend booking a dinner reservation for fine dining as the food was incredible (2AA Rosette) and the ambience as well, with large windows to enjoy the surroundings! Highly recommend this hotel! (Party of 5)"

"Our room was excellent very quiet with lovely comfortable bed, nice bed linen, towels and plenty of tea&coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious. We ate evening meals at the hotel which were homemade and great quality and reasonable price. New owners have taken over hotel just over 2 mths ago and we found them to be very friendly, welcoming and hard working. They're improving the hotel with new decor and have great attention to detail so I'm sure once finished it will be amazing. It's location is great with some fantastic walks and bus on your doorstep. We hope to return next time we are in the Lakes and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel."

"The room was clean, but overall the hotel felt dated and in need of refurbishment. There was noticeable wear and damage to the skirting boards and furnishings, and the same could be said for the third-floor corridors and the lift. While the bathroom was in slightly better condition, it still felt tired and could do with updating. There was also no fridge in the room. The walls were extremely thin, meaning noise from neighbouring rooms carried very easily. I’m not usually a light sleeper, but I can imagine this would be a significant issue for many guests. The bar area looked pleasant enough, although I didn’t use it myself. I also chose not to have breakfast, as the additional £18 per day for my two-night stay felt overpriced. On the positive side, the location is very good - it’s only a short walk into the town centre, with two lovely parks nearby. There’s also a scenic walk to Threlkeld along the converted railway line, which starts near the leisure centre just a couple of minutes away. The route is around 6.4 miles there and back. Overall, I feel I would have been better off spending a little extra to stay somewhere of a higher standard. Even a Premier Inn would likely have been an improvement. The main advantage of the Keswick Country House Hotel was the included on-site parking."
