I was only there for two nights. I was very impressed with the facility. It was so cozy, I felt like I was not in California. I felt like I had traveled somewhere up north in Washington because of how beautiful the landscape was all around. I stayed in #10 one bedroom 1 bath and a tiny kitchen, which was perfect for me. There was a daybed in the living room which was perfect for a party of 4. I really did enjoy staying at Arrowhead Pine Rose Cabins. I slept better knowing the Sheriffs Dept was right across the street and the Fire Dept. A week before I stayed in Big Bear on the north shore in an Air B and B and that was awful. Don't stay in Big Bear in an Air B and B, they make you haul your trash bags with you to transport your trash bags in your car to a dump site with 20 other cars waiting to drop off their garbage bags as well. STAY IN ARROWHEAD Pine Rose Cabins instead! I was sad I had to leave, but alas I will be back with my klan in the spring. xoxo.
Loved, loved this cabin. Friends and i definitely want to come back just to relax. The person who gave us our keys was such a sweet person and made me feel
welcomed immediately. The day after she wasn’t there anymore and this new one wasn’t as friendly so I’m glad she wasn’t the one who welcomed us. Other than that I would say my experience was a 10/10
While the decor of our particular cabin—an Indigenous-themed two bedroom complete with a wooden Indian out front —was offensive, it didn’t trigger us personally.
The cabin was clean, cute, well-finished and affordable. We ended up in this specific themed cabin due to a free upgrade. The beds were comfortable full-size beds. It was good that we only needed one of the bedrooms, because while the heat pumped mightily into that room, the other bedroom was chilly on this snowy night.
We enjoyed the fireplace after purchasing a $10 wood & firestarter bundle. The location is just off the main road, but it is quiet. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed a scary movie on the TV. (We were not able to screencast our scary movie using our Apple device, but this is kind of the norm).
It’s my personal belief that fetishized indigenous bodies are a part of settler-colonial Western history, and as such a decor like this cabin’s can be a weird trip into a former time. I enjoyed looking at the mix of advertising images, fine arts, and crafts and thinking about their place in a wider mythology of the west. However, I want to warn anyone who might not have the luxury of an academic level of remove—this particular cabin is a straight-faced throwback to a piece of the past that is very problematic. For all I know, it was decorated by a registered tribal member or with great care by an ally, but I want to hold space for people who might experience it as a scary othering.
i'm Beautiful cabin. Equipped with just about everything you need. Check in staff were very friendly. We stayed in Ponderosa Lodge. A bunch of family went to celebrate a birthday, we wanted to just play games, hang out, and have family time, and this place was perfect for that. Our specific lodge had a pool table which we loved. Nice grounds with creeks to walk around and view, the spa was nice and hot. They had wifi and Hulu, cute little kids playground, huge sized checkers, large Jenga, table tennis, and corn hole. We'll definitely be back to try other cabins
The bathroom needs summer sort of heating device during the winter.
Though being a mountain facility they were missing some sublet niceties such as a tissue box, hooks for having coats when you don’t wish to drop moisture across the rug..
We do appreciate they made snow available for our stay 😉
