"Vander Urbani Resort was a bit of a mixed experience for us, because some aspects were truly outstanding while others could really use some attention. The staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful from the moment we checked in. Even simple requests, like extra pillows, were handled quickly and graciously — something we’ve learned not to take for granted while traveling! The included breakfast was easily the best hotel breakfast we’ve had on this trip, with an excellent selection and quality. The hotel’s public spaces are stylish, attractive, and very well maintained, and the location is terrific for exploring Ljubljana. The rooftop pool is also a really cool feature. The infinity edge gives it a unique feel and makes the rooftop area a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view. Our room itself, however, was a different story. While very spacious, it felt quite dated. The carpet had noticeable stains, and two large bathroom tiles were cracked and actually moved when stepped on. The bathroom was generously sized but oddly lacks hooks, shelving, or much space to set down toiletries. Our room also became very hot during our last night, and despite adjusting the thermostat, the air conditioning did not seem to respond. Overall, the room had the feeling that it probably would have been quite luxurious decades ago but is now in need of a refresh. That said, this hotel has so much going for it — a wonderful staff, excellent breakfast, fantastic location, stylish commo"

"Incredible place to stay . I enjoyed this place so much . I chose a low level single room with shared BR , that was really great . Comfortable bed , pillows , clean room and with staff cordial assistance they helped me with my luggage from a few steps to the room . The kitchen is well equipped, they have the reception fridge for my meds . Good latte at the bar . Towels are provided . Even the BR soap is good . Just bring hair conditioner. Balcony has a good view of the castle . Only 900 feet from Flix bus station , in the heart of central Ljubljana. Supermarket 2 blocks , plenty of entertainment,Awesome place to stay. Tap water is drinkable. Tea at the reception. Plenty of quiet places to sit and relax . I used the laundry and the iron . Great customer service."

"During my three-plus weeks exploring Slovenia, I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Cubo three different times—both before and after my travels, beginning and ending my journey in the storybook capital of Ljubljana. The location is fantastic—centrally situated and within easy walking distance of the city’s main attractions, restaurants, and beautiful Old Town. The hotel itself is stylish and modern, with beautiful décor and a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. What truly stands out, though, is the staff. The front desk team is exceptional—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything you need. Hotel Cubo was the perfect home base for my time in Ljubljana and a wonderful way to begin and end my Slovenian adventure. A must-stay when visiting Ljubljana!"

"Great location in the heart of the old town, right next to the river and within easy walking distance of all the main attractions. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and bars nearby. The hotel was very clean, and the air conditioning worked exceptionally well. The bed was a little too soft for our liking and quite noisy when moving. Also, the bedside lamp couldn’t be used because the only available power outlet was needed for charging our devices. Our biggest disappointment was the room allocation. We had specifically contacted the hotel beforehand to confirm a room with a private bathroom, but on arrival we were given a room with a shared bathroom because, we were told, the private bathroom had broken. We understand that unexpected maintenance issues can happen, but the way the situation was handled was disappointing. We had to insist that this was not acceptable, especially after receiving prior confirmation. The initial response was simply that “things get broken,” delivered with a dismissive attitude. Only after we pressed the issue were we given an upgraded room with a private bathroom. Overall, the location and cleanliness were excellent, but the customer service when dealing with the room issue could have been handled much more professionally."
