The property was beautiful and conveniently located. The whole staff treated us like family specially Agnes. She was amazing. She was so helpful and even booked our dinner reservations one night. "The hotel is rather small (a very good thing for me!), but the room I had was large and the bathroom too. It was modern and very clean, with A/C. It was called Mallus and had a French door to the street which meant I had to have the blind down all the time for privacy, really the only drawback to it all. The breakfast is very good, fresh, and the manager very kind and dedicated. I highly recommend!"

"This was not what I was expecting as a hotel. First of all we could not find the place. There was no signage indicating the way or that a hotel was there like other places we saw along the road. The directions connected to the listing took us to dead end roads. We finally got near the location and we thought that it was still wrong because it was in a little village and it looked like an abandoned house was there. I finally stopped and used my little Portuguese to ask for help. A nice lady...

"A minha estadia dentro dos contratempos da casa teve, correu bem. Um hotel considerado quatro estrelas no quarto não avia uma garrafinha de água um quarto com bastante espaço não tinha uma secretária para o computador mas também não tinha Wi-Fi no hotel o colchão era muito duro a roupa de cama essa era boa. Passado pouco tempo de dar entrada liguei a televisão vai a luz abaixo fomos à entrada conseguiram arranjar nesse noite no dia seguinte acontece o mesmo mandão desligar um botão no quadro...

"Un lugar perfecto si lo que buscas es un lugar tranquilo y acogedor para descansar. Los dueños de la casa son muy amables,cercanos y familiares. Las instalaciones limpias y perfectas, muy bien decoradas. El núcleo urbano tiene unas calles muy estrechas y tiene el acceso limitado a vehículos. Se puede llegar en coche hasta la casa para dejar el equipaje, mas es aconsejable estacionarlo después en un aparcamiento habilitado a tal efecto a las afueras de Soajo a escasos 5-10 minutos de la casa."

"We just came from a wonderfull stay at this paradise. The service was at it finest, and the location to. We were so lucky, that the staff (Susanna) upgraded our room to a supirior, because there were one free. The room was so beautifull - the combination of wood, stone and “farm” style has sat an impression of us. You really need to experience this place. Both the location, but very much the service indeed. Incredible breakfeast, haven’t got anyting near this standard for the money before....

"We had a lovely stay here - Manuel and his family made us feel right at home. They were always available and helpful. The property is beautiful and a quick walk into town. Especially nice was the pool, the breakfast and even the kitties were nice to see and visit with. Highly recommend"

"Fantastic stay for 2 nights in late September. Location is a challenging drive up a mountain, mixed signage. Great staff, lovely room and outstanding view on a clear sunny day. One challenge - breakfast is provided, dinner is not available....we did ask for a cheese platter one evening (the only option) but it was not made for us, not sure why - so we had to drive 15 mins into town in the dark. Overall a fantastic stay but be warned it is not a hotel, it is a quinta (farm) that does not really have much more than a room with a view. For that its amazing."

"From check in to departure, we could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. Every member of the staff was welcoming, beyond accommodating, and made our stay a truly memorable experience. This is also the most beautiful and well-maintained property I have ever visited, and was such a peaceful, relaxing escape from the major cities. I also greatly appreciated that the property only accommodates a small number of guests, which made the stay feel very private and intimate, while still allowing guests the opportunity to get to know one another. I would highly recommend Quinta do Vallado if you are planning to stay in the Douro Valley."
