5 stars are not enough for this extraordinary place. From the moment we arrived, Bernardo made us feel like family. The view is magnificent. The family style meals are delicious. All of the staff exhibit gracious hospitality and go out of their way to create a memorable experience. Highly recommend.

This place understands what hospitality is. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed as if it was our home. Our bags were taken to our room and we had a welcome drink on the terrace overlooking the spectacular Douro Valley. We joined other guests for a family style meal and enjoyed getting to know people from many different countries. Amazing place to relax, appreciate the area, with a wonderful team to help with questions and make the visit super comfortable.

Casa de Casal de Loivos is a magnificent property with glorious views, comfortable rooms and excellent service. Bernardo's family has owned the property for generations and both he and the staff take great pride in taking care of their guests. We took long walks through the vineyards, did a wine and olive oil tasting and enjoyed dinner with the other guests. Big thank you to Daniel who brightened every day with his jovial personality and to Bernardo for his excellent suggestions of things to do in Porto. This was the favorite stop of our weeklong visit to Portugal.

We had a wonderful two nights here. The warmest of welcomes and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. It is wonderfully located for a quiet trip enjoying the spectacular views and outdoor space & pool. The room was basically appointed but comfortable and had a/c. Meals were delicious and it was a very different experience to sit around the table with other guests from around the world. Great wine and port selection too

This is a magnificent property with majestic views and a wonderful host who cares deeply about his guests happiness and accommodates any request to the best of his ability. One cannot get a better view of the valley from any other place. Bernado, owner, is a great host and will provide great service and hospitality. The dinner they offer was very special, and took place in a private dining room..One cannot get better service in any 5 star hotel. Breakfast included was very good.

This is a family run business. The Casa is treated with love and it's evident from the warm welcome from Bernardo to the communal meal and attention to detail. We only wish that we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful property with an incredible view. Bernardo and his team were very focused on making sure all guests were well taken care of. We enjoyed the optional evening group dinners quite a bit. The view is stunning. Relaxing around the pool and taking in the view was a very pleasant way to enjoy the beauty of the Douro region. We had a lovely dinner sitting around the grand dining table and visiting with the other guests from around d the world. Driving there and parking is difficult, however. Best to take the boat or train to Pinhao and then take a taxi to the property.
