Nautilux Rethymno by Mage Hotels

"We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel. The service was excellent throughout, with friendly, attentive staff who were always available and made us feel genuinely well looked after. The food was a highlight. We had breakfast each morning and one evening meal, both of very good quality, with a wide selection and plenty of vegetarian and some vegan options. Breakfast wasn’t quite as hot as the evening meal, but was still very good. The restaurant itself is lovely, overlooking the pool. Our room was modern, clean and spacious, with a huge balcony, a lovely hot tub and a great second-floor view of the pool and sea. The bed was extremely comfortable and the lighting system was very useful. The pool area is beautiful, with plenty of space and no difficulty finding sunbeds. The beachfront location is a real highlight, with a gorgeous sandy beach and clear blue water. We even managed to get a cabana twice, free for guests of the hotel. The spa and indoor pool were also excellent. We both had massages, which were genuinely very good and better than many hotel spa treatments. The location is great, towards the end of the main strip but with restaurants and bars in every direction. The old town is around a 40-minute walk or 10-minute taxi ride away, and e-scooters & bikes are readily available nearby. We honestly have no negatives to mention, it is a fantastic hotel and an easy recommendation."

"If want a hotel where the owners treat you as a person and not a number, come to Calla Luxury Seafront Suites. Katja, Michalis, and their team are absolutely incredible. They saved us so much time by helping us arrange transportation, book taxis, and pointing us toward the best authentic restaurants in the Old Town area.The beach location is central yet quiet at night for a peaceful sleep. We loved swimming in the beautiful pool after a day at the beach and watching the gorgeous sunsets from the rooftoop. The breakfasts are freshly cooked and include special Greek treats each morning. It's been many years since I have stayed at a hotel that prepares such a special and fresh breakfast. The room was immaculate, clean, comfortable. No detail overlooked. We stayed in a first floor room with hot tub which we loved as we had our private entrance and patio surrounded by beautiful plants. Thank you both for creating such a relaxing and welcoming experience. We cant wait to visit again from Germany. Efharisto! Kris and Jimmy"

"Hotel easy to find, next to large supermarket on a main road, a mile from the cross island route. Some parking, 3 allocated spaces and then on street parking nearby Has a lift but some stairs involved for most rooms. Room was a 2 room apartment with a large lounge/kitchen area, with a large Smart TV, oven, hob and fridge. Balcony off each room, large shower room, and plenty of storage space. Complimentary breakfast was good. Pool area limited, not enough sunbeds and begins to lose sun from about 3pm. Staff were pleasant and helpful. 100yds from the massive beach and its safe promenade full of bars and restaurants leading to town, about a mile away. The main road option I would avoid on foot, parked cars and busy junctions."

"We had a wonderful few days at Aquila Porto Rethymno. The property is beautiful and well maintained and with many additional facilities and games than expected. We went mid-June and had a wonderful time at the pool and beach, easily finding chairs, however, the drinks service was slow. The breakfast spread was delicious and plentiful. Very convenient location with easy walking distance to town."

"One of the reasons we selected this property was because the listing said parking was included. This was not the case. We arrived and double parked on the street while asking where the parking was, and the person at the front desk was shocked we thought there was parking. They were helpful and directed us to a nearby lot with free parking that was otherwise full but we were fortunate to pull up just as someone else was leaving. We were able to park our car there for free for 2 nights without issue. The property was conveniently located. The pool is set in what is similar to a courtyard surrounded by buildings. It's a nice amenity to have but not the most scenic place to relax. The breakfast had a great variety of options and variety from day to day. The elevator was small and stalled often. We opted to take the stairs."
