A very enjoyable one night stay at the highdown inn.
We were half way through a 70 mile run around the coastal path and needed to set off early so we would have missed breakfast, but the staff were kind enough to cook us some delicious bacon sandwiches to take with us as a packed lunch.
In addition to this I left my headphones in the room and didn't realize until I was back in Bembridge. I didn't have time to drive all the way back before getting my Ferry home. I contacted them about it and they kindly packaged and posted them back to me very promptly.
It's fair to say they go above and beyond for their guests at the Highdown Inn and I would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone thinking of staying in the area.
Great place to stay, if a little off the beaten track, regular bus stop a 20 minute walk(moderate pace.)
The decor is faded and could do with an update, bed was really comfy, the staff were excellent and the the food was really good.
Staff and facilities as well as the restaurant food was excellent.
Breakfast was mixed - smoked salmon and scrambled egg but no smoked salmon and the coffee was poor!
I only stayed for one night but wishing I stayed for longer now! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Absolutely loved the space, the bedroom was comfortable and clean, and gave a very homey b&b feeling. I took transit and found it fairly straightforward to get to. And its an easy walk to the Tennyson monument! Would definitely recommend!
This is an absolute gem of a hotel and location If your planning a break ..walking ...cycling or just touring the island i eould highly recommend
The mixture of traditional pub style bar..excellent food selection.
and quality.mixed with the modern day room designs..and warm inviting staff i would highly recommend
Although we weren't there for long, as we were on the island for a wedding, when we were there, we had a lovely comfortable stay, with a cracking breakfast the next day. Thank you.

Nice hotel in a good location with parking. Comfy bed. Slightly dated decor and a tad overpriced we felt at £130 per room for single occupancy.
Pleasant but nothing special
We thought the Highdown Inn In was excellent. The room was good, and dinner in the evening was very good. Would recommend this hotel. Also reasonable cost not expensive.
We had a great afternoon and evening. Lucy and Sean were very friendly and welcoming as were the rest of the staff. The menu options and food was brilliant and the music in the garden was an added bonus. We will return!
It’s the most wonderful location and for that reason we would stay again, it’s quiet and the staff are lovely. The room cleanliness is poor and the cost per night doesn’t correlate, the decor is very tired too.
Perfect twin room, not the biggest but everything you need, bright, cheerful and very well presented. Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble. Dinner in the evening was delicious with a good selection of real ales. Breakfast room (not in the main pub) is lovely and lots of choice. Parking right outside, very handy for the Tennyson Memorial and a walk to the Needles. Can’t fault it and will definitely come back.
Very welcoming staff, excellent locally sourced breakfast.
Very tempting menus on the blackboard in the bar - it was a shame we were already booked to eat elsewhere!
Next time...
Fantastic views, great friendly staff - amazing breakfast?

Great breakfast
We checked in on a Tuesday afternoon and were shown to our room by a young lady who was young and therefore needs experience in how to pass a few pleasantries with the guests.
I have to say when I walked into our room, top of stairs first on right, I was disappointed in it for the amount of money we were paying but its location was good for a wedding nearby so...
We had dinner in the pub and the staff serving were again lacking in the friendly banter. The food was fine.
The lady serving at breakfast was much more friendly and I have to say the cooked English was lovely (you can always judge a breakfast on the quality of the bacon and sauasage used and these were excellent)
