The room layout causes problems compared to even smaller rooms in Japan. The bed consumes the entire width of the room, which means one partner needs to climb over the other when using the bathroom in the middle of the night. Shinjuku Prince Hotel
Clean, well laid out rooms, staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. Excellent location near the shinjuku station making it easy to get around and tons of restaurants and nightlife. Highly recommended!

Shinjuku Granbell Hotel
Food was great, service was great, but room was tiny! However, I think this is normal for most single person rooms in Japan and given its size, the layout worked well enough.
