"We were disappointed at the El Faro Beach Club which was supposed to be included with our room. When we arrived there were no lounge chairs available and we were only offered cane backed uncomfortable CHAIRS. When 1 lounger became available we were told we couldn't use it because it was for reservations only???? We were disappointed in the experience."

"Overall, I had a great experience at this hotel. Everything was very well maintained, and the staff—though a small team—were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. The property is beautiful and perfect for couples or anyone looking to truly disconnect. I highly recommend staying in the “dome” rooms for a unique experience. Getting there can be a bit challenging due to the sandy road, but once you arrive, it feels like a hidden paradise. The beach is practically untouched, very quiet, and ideal for complete relaxation. A few suggestions to enhance the experience: the atmosphere can be too quiet at times—adding one or two hours of more upbeat music at the pool could help. Also, the hotel has a pizza oven that isn’t being used, which feels like a missed opportunity for a great lunch offering. Lastly, I asked if I could invite two friends to visit, planning to spend at the restaurant and bar, but they were required to purchase a day pass. Given how quiet the hotel is and that I was already a guest, this felt inflexible. We ended up going elsewhere, which was a missed F&B opportunity for the hotel. Overall, a beautiful place with excellent service, and with a bit more flexibility and small enhancements, it could be even better."

"The hotel looked SO COOL but our room had ants everywhere. We asked if they could Switch us for another room Since we arrived before other guests had- but they refused. They did offer to clean, but we did not want the room “fumigated” right before we would be sleeping in it. It was really a shame bc the property manager there was sweet it was the corporate folks not on site that were not helpful. When they “inspected” they said they only saw a couple of ants- this was not the case - there were ants inside the sheets, on the comforter, on the floor and on the desk upon our arrival "

"Baja House is a very cool micro boutique hotel that punches well above its size. Thoughtfully designed as a narrow vertical space, every inch is used with intention—and it shows. Each room feels expansive thanks to soaring ceilings, and ours had a private stair that led to a rooftop terrace, opening onto a larger shared rooftop with views over the whole town. That layered sense of space—moving up, out, and into views—was a highlight. Inside, the details elevate the experience. Cathedral-style stained glass windows cast beautiful light, giving the room a quiet, cinematic feel. The bathroom is modern, the bed is comfortable, and the shower has great water pressure. The rooftop is exceptional: oversized jacuzzi, lounge seating, couches, and an outdoor kitchen under a pergola, with Bluetooth speakers for chilled-out music. It’s an ideal spot to unwind at sunset or ease into the evening. There’s also a more intimate courtyard with a plunge pool, lush tropical planting, and relaxed seating—quiet, tucked away, and beautifully composed. What really sets Baja House apart is the design—Baja beach meets jungle with an industrial-modern edge. Raw materials, reclaimed wood, and repurposed fixtures create a refined, slightly DIY feel, all executed with a strong design sense. It feels like something out of Dwell—effortless, textural, and deeply connected to its surroundings. Would absolutely stay again.."

"Beautiful and peaceful oasis! The grounds were thoughtfully designed. The staff was friendly and helpful. We loved all the seating areas around the hotel and outside our room. Morning coffee delivery was a nice touch!"
