Banff Aspen Lodge
8/10 Good
"Lovely big clean room with really comfortable beds. Great location within Banff and easy parking. Staff were all great. Only slight complaints was the water pressure in the shower was quite poor and the buffet table in the breakfast room is very small, so was quite chaotic first thing in the morning with lots of people trying to reach over each other."

"Loved the location, we were welcome with tickets to ride the Public Transit, a $15 daily discount to a list of very nice places to eat. Our room didn't have Air Conditioning, it was Heat only but a nice rotating fan was readily available in the closet, also the ambient temperature was overall comfortable. Only during our 2AM checkout 😴 we were dismissed by a not very friendly and helpful staff member, but overall we loved and will recommend the place."

"We had a wonderful stay at Johnston Canyon Lodge and Bungalows. The cottages are so clean, yet rustic. There is a wonderful quaint restaurant on site along with a gift shop. There are amazing hiking trails and beautiful sceneries. We hope to go back one day !!"

"We had an amazing stay here in September 2026! Everything about the hotel was excellent. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, with beautiful mountain views. The location was fantastic — right at the end of the main street in downtown Banff, so it was quiet while still being within easy walking distance of plenty of restaurants and shops. For breakfast, we really enjoyed Sally and Great Folk. Both were excellent, but Great Folk was outstanding — one of the best breakfasts we had during our trip. There are so many great hikes nearby, which made the location even better. We also loved the hotel’s hot tubs, pools, and sauna — they were perfect after a long day of hiking. The staff were amazing, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. Parking was easy and convenient as well. Honestly, we had nothing negative to say about this hotel. Everything was excellent, from the room and location to the amenities and service. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Banff!"
