"Can highly recommend this hotel. The whole town was without power for days after the storms and fortunately this hotel had a generator. It was worth paying a little extra for the honeymoon suite to have a bath, balcony with great views and extra space. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant “Adi’s Kitchen “ each day. There was a terrific variety of food to select from- all great quality and value. Service at the hotel was great. Anthea at reception was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable"

"The property is amazing!! Couldn’t recommend it enough. Our room had an issue and they change the room straight away. The breakfast and restaurant is amazing. The food is fresh and tasty. You have to have a treatment at the spa, it is mind blowing. The pool area is clean and tidy too."

"Great hotel in a great location, right by the water and a short walking distance to all the restaurants at the marina. Parking right at the hotel as well. Rooms are lovely, staff were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were good - will be staying here again next time we are in Knysna."

"We had a fantastic stay at Moonshine! From the moment we arrived, Carol made us feel incredibly welcome and well taken care of. The space was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, with great attention to detail that really made the experience special. We are visiting South Africa for the first time from Canada on the Garden Route and Carol’s space reminded us of a home away from home. Our 3 kids absolutely loved the pool, the bunk beds, and the hike, it made the trip even more memorable for our whole family. The atmosphere was relaxing and exactly what we were looking for, and Carol was always helpful, responsive, and genuinely warm. You can tell a lot of care has gone into creating a great guest experience. We truly enjoyed our time and would absolutely recommend Moonshine to anyone looking for a memorable stay. Looking forward to coming back again!"

"The hotel amenities are reasonable but be warned there are no TVs and spotty WiFi. There are no nearby restaurants so unless you want to take a 20-30 minute drive for a reasonable restaurant you are obliged to use the hotel restaurant. This gets to my unfortunate experience and low rating for the staff. After our first night being advised it was necessary to place your dinner selection before 12.00 we attempted to do so and were advised the kitchen was closed for the day. The premise had been taken over by an arranged conference and the restaurant leisure area had been converted to facilitate this. I asked why I had not been advised of this prior to arriving and was told that they did not have my contact details. As it was booked through Expedia they could obviously contacted me or certainly advised me in my arrival. When I informed the manager that to close the kitchen and turn the quiet boutique hotel into a conference centerwas unacceptable and I would be checking out her reply was “Good” I definitely would not recommend this hotel "
