"Beautiful hotel and would stay again. Told it was a former art museum. Staff were all helpful from front desk, restaurant, room service, and valet parking. Short walk to free street car (trolley) station to hop on/off and tour downtown KC."

"The front desk staff, valet drivers and service workers were amazing and very nice to deal with but..............the old grumpy guy at the bar was very disappointing. My wife and I were the only two at the bar to begin with and he seemed very reluctant to come over and even acknowledge us. I don't know if he was having a bad day or what but we remained polite with him. The 1st round of drinks he immediately became angry because my wife asked for an Old Fashioned and I had a simple whisky on the rocks. We tipped him generously and enjoyed the drinks at the bar and then a second couple came over and asked could they sit at this small table right next to bar and order drinks. He loudly and aggressively told them "NO, if you want drinks from the bar, then sit at the bar" Mind you the table was literally to the right of the bar within 2ft. The look of shock on both their faces were well understood and they just left. Now, when my wife and I ordered another round of the same drinks, he completely lost it and started slamming things around the register. I then paid again for the 2 drinks and DID NOT tip him this time and he started saying what I assumed to be negative things about us and shaking his head, he bought my change over and dropped it in front of me on the counter and stormed off out of the bar completely. We didn't even finish our drinks and we left after that very distasteful weird encounter. The "free" breakfast was nothing to write home about and the coffee 👎"
