"Room was clean although small amount of mould in corners of shower tray, fan cover kept falling down, bathroom fan was very noisy. Didn’t eat in the restaurant as only 4star food hygiene rating (expected more from this type of hotel), we ate across the road at the Cosy Club which was great! Overall we would consider staying again at the hotel as lovely area!"

"Friendly and happy staff, new beds, with having a Miller and Carter steakhouse within walking distance. Wide open lounge and relaxing area both upstairs and down. Spacious rooms. Downside - no lifts (pun intended), no small fridge, older and squeaky doors. "

"Enjoyable third one night stay over recent years near to Christmas as a stopover to visit relatives in Oakham. Christmas trees and lights decorations looking good. Good view of Rutland Water and easy access to it through the gardens"

"The hotel was beautiful, with the add Christmas feel. We stayed for one night, for a visit to Burghley House Christmas Market, it was perfect location. Dinner and breakfast was good, however a little expensive. The room was warm, cost and had all amenities needed. The only complaint, was the bed was a little hard. We would definitely recommend a visit to the Haycock Hotel. "
