"Liked the location and access to the beach. I think the $10 per day resort fee isn’t necessary, on top of $10 per day for parking. That fee doesn’t include chairs/umbrellas at the beach - so what exactly is the point? Breakfast was good - just be prepared it’s the same thing every day. Omelet and taco station made to order was excellent. Breakfast crew did a great job having food always hot and available - dining area is large and no issue finding options to sit. We used the pool once the entire stay. My kids said it was too hot - it bakes from sunrise till about 4:30. After it’s had time to cool off it’s full of people and no thanks to being part of a human soup. So we didn’t get as much pool time as I thought. Room was very comfortable and clean. I really liked having the balcony as a spot to hang wet stuff instead of in the room. Hotel was very quiet at night, you didn’t hear running in the halls or yelling. Staff was friendly and helpful. The ladies cleaning were always hard at work and keeping the place sparkling. I’ve never seen such hard working hotel staff before."

"Loved the easy access to the pool and bar area. Just minutes walk to the beach and a great restaurant downstairs. We never had to leave and nice friendly staff. The only negative thing was the bathroom tub had rusted areas in it, might need to update a few things like that in the rooms."

"Overall rating: 3.5 stars The hotel has some beautiful features, especially the pool and the lobby, which both looked very nice and inviting. However, the room itself did not meet the same standard. I would rate the room cleanliness 3 stars. The bathroom mirror lights did not work, which made the room feel cheap and poorly maintained. The furniture also looked old and damaged, and there were not enough towels provided in the room. Another downside is that parking costs $10 per day, and there is no free breakfast included. Overall, the hotel has potential because of the beautiful lobby and pool area, but the rooms need updating and better attention to detail."

It was clean, spacious, and equipped with everything needed for a great workout while traveling. The pool area was simply luxurious. It was the perfect place to relax, with comfortable seating, beautiful surroundings, and an atmosphere that made it feel like a true resort getaway. If you’re planning a trip to Galveston and want a hotel that combines history, luxury, outstanding amenities, and exceptional service, I highly recommend the Grand Galvez Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning on our next visit to Galveston."
