Tenby Beach

9.6/10 (436 reviews)
Visitors to Wales are often staggered by quite how picturesque it can be here and nowhere more so than at Tenby, probably the most iconic seaside town in the country. Tenby Beach is the generic name given to not one but four of its beaches, all of which offer sheltered, deep blue water and outstanding views.

Carew Castle

9.0/10 (40 reviews)
Regarded as one of the most impressive castles in Wales, visitors to Carew Castle can trace the structure’s history from Norman fortifications to when it became an Elizabethan country home owned by Sir John Perrot, possibly an illegitimate son of Henry VIII, before its eventual abandonment in the 17th Century. Several notable features have resulted, including earthworks created by Royalist defenders during the Civil War and window frames dating to Tudor times that were made of imported Cotswold stone that stands out against the local limestone used for the rest of the building.

One of the foremost charms of the Pembrokeshire Coast, Manorbier Castle makes for a fantastic day out, especially for families and anyone with a passion for Welsh history. "The host Marion was delightful to deal with. Prior to arrival I phoned to query why I had been sent a bill for an additional charge over and above what I had already paid. Marion explained it was because Expedia keep making errors with the rate and I needed to pay more, however after a bit more discussion Marion was quick to say she would honour the price I had paid on Expedia . When I saw the room I can see why it should have cost more . It was spotless and comfortable which made me more than happy to follow the instructions about taking shoes off before walking on the new carpet and being carful about getting water on the bathroom floor. This hotel is a dog lovers paradise. Marion clearly loves dogs , and kindly made sure her dogs didn’t attack ours"
