"We had a very enjoyable stay at the Sonesta St. George Hotel Luxor. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome with refreshing welcome drinks and excellent service. They even surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade, which was a wonderful gesture and made our stay even more special.
The room was spacious, very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We also had a beautiful view of the Nile River, which made our stay even more memorable. The hotel’s location is excellent, making it easy to explore Luxor and enjoy the nearby attractions.
We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant, and it was a great experience. The waiter, server, and chef were all friendly, professional, and attentive, and the food was excellent. The complimentary breakfast was also very good, with a wide variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day.
The only downside during our stay was the ongoing construction around the pool and courtyard area. While we understand the hotel is making improvements, the constant construction noise throughout the day made it difficult to relax and enjoy the pool during our one-night stay.
Overall, the excellent hospitality, comfortable accommodations, beautiful Nile views, great dining experience, delicious breakfast, and convenient location far outweighed the temporary inconvenience. We would happily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Luxor, especially once the renovation work is complete."
"The hotel was very clean and well kept , no complaints there , room was kept clean and the staff were helpful
I know it's the summer time so not many guests but I did not appreciate the guy who showed me where to sit in the restaurant stand there and watch me eat, I was the only person in the restaurant so it was very intimidating"
"This was my second visit to the Djorff Palace and it was every bit as good as the first. The hotel is in a beautiful location right on the Nile close to the valley of the kings.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with an excellent air conditioning unit. Relaxing pool area with great sun beds set up daily with towels. Great breakfast and freshly cooked meals at lunchtime and dinner time, with daily changing menu. A huge bonus is the hotel’s own river boat that will take you across the Nile for free or down to the old town centre for a small charge and will then bring you back when your ready to return. Would highly recommend…."
"you have to come in with appropriate expectations. This is Egypt and it's Luxor. The pictures make this look very beautiful, and a lot of the resort is picturesque, but what you don't see is you get dropped off on a street and walk through a metal detector, there are A LOT of mosquitoes, and the rooms are tired. I mean, I walked in and could see from across the room that the mattress was shot, with huge depressions where people had been sleeping over the years, and my back hurt all week. The air conditioners worked but were super loud. The rooms are huge but pretty dilapidated, with weird bathrooms. The pool was really nice and the staff were very nice. Our guide warned us that many of his clients staying here had gotten 'food poisoning', and I did indeed get travelers diarrhea here. I cannot be sure where I got it but we only ate at the hotel and Im a doctor who is very germaphobic and Im an experienced traveler, I never touch tap water even for the toothbrush. I was the only one of my family who ate salad twice, so that is a possible source. I should know better than ordering a salad, but I thought it would be safe in the hotel. Totally my fault, but would ask the hotel to make sure they are not washing vegetables in tap water. The doctor on site was super nice and helpful and gave me cipro/flagyl which took care of it in a couple of days. We ended our stay early. I will not be coming back. Its probably nice by Luxor standards, just set your expectations appropriately."
"The resort was awesomely maintained and kept beautiful, the pools were very nice. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful towards our stay, the room service is also good."
