"First room they tried to offer, unacceptable, stench of dampness unbearable. Second room, The Gold room OK. Bit dated,,,,good job I always sleep with ear buds, can be a little noisy, but lovely room with good views. Bit mean with the coffee and Tea. Needs a bit more TLC. "

"We stayed two nights for our wedding anniversary. We had a great time despite all the museums being temporarily closed. They will be open next week possibly. Dawn and Danny were fantastically hospitable. The room was very comfortable with a huge shower. We ate in one evening after a drink outside. The standard of the food was fantastic as were the breakfasts. We will undoubtedly return when the National Trust have opened everything up again."

"Great hotel, I went stayed here with my wife when we went to the Embers festival. Lovely place to stay, parking fine and enjoyed the meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was really good and the staff were all wonderful. I would definitely stay here again"
