"We were made to feel exceptionally welcomed on arrival by the staff. The place was comfortable and clean, the staff extremely attentive, and we were provided with every amenity required. We felt that the offer of the Yukatas and sleeping garments were really considerate. We enjoyed the carefully curated dishes for dinner. Really exceptional service, this is how luxury travel used to feel and sadly has been lost in many places in more modern times. Highly rated. Takayama was the highlight of our visit."

The single room was small, clean, and functional. Hotel policy is to drop off the key at the desk when leaving, which I find a little inconvenient. The price for a night's stay is really low, so I can put up with the inconvenience."
