We only stayed for 3 nights, but it was generally fine. Nice size room, only downside is the door to the actual room must be very thin as we could hear EVERYTHING out in the hallway. Front desk were kind to lend us umbrellas. We didn’t have any meals at the hotel, so can’t comment on the restaurant.

Great hotel staying experience at Takayama.

This is a very comfortable hotel. The service is great and the breakfast is excellent. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from JR Station and Bus Terminal. I like the onsen at roof top and the quiet environment.

The location is perfect, we stayed one night for next day travel to Shirakawago, the bus station is nearby, 10 minutes walk, I love the hot springs on the rooftop, love it, the price is very good too. Thank you. Will stay again and refer my friends too

Very nice property and very clean. Close to the train station easily walkable with luggage . Close to the historic district. Only issue was the restaurant. You cannot just walk in like a normal hotel restaurant you need to reserve one day in advance. But nobody told us.

My room is facing the mountain side and it was very nice during the day to see the red leaves all around the mountain. The location is very convenient and just a few minute walk from the train/bus station. The room is big and spacious. One thing I would like to comment is the room does not provide any tea bag or coffee.

The staff are really really nice. The receptionists who served me are trainees, but they are really helpful and polite. The staff who do cleaning are also very very nice! Always with a smile! The onsen was great but I wonder why they don’t swap the men’s and women’s onsen day by day so the guests can see different view (potentially?). The hotel is very closed to the bus and train station and the walk to the main tourist spots is short and decent. Once again, thank you very much for the staff’s warm services!

Amazing onsen!!!

Lovely new hotel. Good location easy to find. Decor is tasteful and modern. Loved the loungewear they provided clean every day which was useful for wearing to the onsen. The onsen is the absolute stand-out feature of the hotel. Pristine, top floor with beautiful views. I used it every night and one morning too. This would be the number one reason for recommending this hotel or returning to it. There is also a nice seating area up there with a log fire and massage chairs. Reception staff. while polite, were not particularly warm and welcoming. We got the feeling - as elsewhere in the town - that we were not their preference for guests. I think this hotel is more interested in their local market than the tourist market. If they do want to welcome tourists they would do well to ensure their staff spoke some English and also to have someone like a concierge who knows the town and area who can give useful local advice. Another suggestion is to get light see through blinds in some rooms that allow light in but also give privacy. There are only blockout blinds and some rooms look straight into other rooms or have other buildings looking onto them allowing for no privacy.

You don’t want to miss the buffet breakfast! Great locally sourced food, so many varieties. Onsen has both indoor large pool and outdoor open air. Facility was clean and well maintained. I recommend it!
