Very nice, modern hotel close to Takayama train and bus station and the old town. The hotel is modern, rooms are reasonably compact but very nice, clean and modern. The spa is nice with great views over the city. Takayama is lovely and very pretty with some very good restaurants. Shirakawa-go well worth the 50.min trip from Takayama. Definitely recommend the Amanek hotel

We booked a superior double room queen bed, non smoking room,this hotel is new and modern it has a lovely spacious dining room for breakfast. There is a thermal bath and sauna for tourists who want to wear their swimmers on the top floor which has great views there is also a men and women only thermal bath if you want to go naked. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk away from the train & bus station. There are plenty of restaurants within walk distance. This hotel and Takayama town was one of best places we stayed on our 6 week trip to Japan. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean, Downside: no bathtubs in room. Would have been helpful if we had known beforehand that there was a shared outdoor bath that needed swimsuits. Appreciated the complimentary snacks from 3-7pm. Breakfast - inadequate toaster service, and disappointed that there were barely any fresh fruits except pineapples and frozen mangoes on repeat for 3 days: Laundry - only 3 machines available,

Amazing modern hotel - very close to Takayama station. The mixed thermal baths on the top floor had great views - it was so lovely to be able to use them as you had to wear swimsuits. If you wanted to bathe naked then there were single sex baths you could use.

Great hotel in Takayama that is not too far from the station or the local areas that you would want to visit. Staff were helpful and very polite. We had a car and the use of the hotel car park was convenient- there is a small fee to pay but your space is reserved throughout your stay. Breakfast is part continental part Japanese. Would recommend the hotel if you stay in Takayama.

A wonderful hotel! Everything was perfect. The room was so modern and stylish, enough space, good beds, lovely shower/toilet area. The spa was so amazing, just loved it. The breakfast was also very good japanese breakfast mixed with some western style things. Lovely welcome drinks and snacks. The staff speaks also English and is very helpful. Absolutely would come again.
