It's also about a 10-15 walk to the historic Dihua street, one of the oldest areas of the city which was once the main market area (still lots of interesting shops there that cater to the local...good photo opps too with some older buildings)

Older but well kept. Arrived early morning from Seattle thinking we could run around the city till checkin. Did nt have dedicated room to hold luggage so we paid for extra night as we not as young as we used to be. We were lucky to get a free upgrade and room. Better choice would be to get it ahead of time. Popular location and kind staff. Good breakfast buffet. Should have spent more time in Taipei. Malls near Taipei 101 blew our minds.

Great hotel. We stayed in Taipei for 4 days, and this hotel worked wonderful for our needs. Central location, AC, and we even had 2 large twins together that made it a king bed. A small refrigerator in the room, and we asked for ice once a day, which they were happy to help with. Very clean hotel, we were very impressed with our stay.

Great location great staff old decor

The only problem was that our room was a little smelly because of a little problem with flushing toilet.we took three rooms and the other two were great .the problem was not bad enough for us to bother to ask to change rooms

The staff were nice, polite, and helpful. Since there are two separate buildings side by side and one of them has no staff stationed there, it was a little confusing when we checked in. Housekeeping was properly done. However, as the building is old, it was still quite dusty, to the point that it triggered my allergic reaction.

This hotel is within 10 minutes from the train station, very convenient. It is also near the famous tourist district with lots of restaurants, cafe, spa, and pharmacy etc. The room was clean, comfy and nicely decorated. The staff was super friendly. The check-in and check-out was smooth and quick. There were taxi right outside waiting to take you anywhere you need.

Some hits, lots of little misses

Lots of little issues made this less than what it could have been. The toilet flushed poorly and I often had to remover the tank cover to move the flap back into place and re-flush almost every time. There should always be a spare roll of toilet paper in every bathroom and I hated worrying about running low or our and had to make a note for the housekeeping staff to replenish. I believe we were entitled to 2 free drinks per day during our stay due to my membership level, but that only happened the first day. The TV remote control instructions were unclear and we never figured it out making for a frustrating experience. The pluses were that the front desk and housekeeping staff were very professional, friendly and respectful which were great. Breakfast options also excellent.
