"We had a wonderful stay at this property. Our family of four (kids 9 and 7) loved the pool, buffet and the room was large. The beds were comfortable and the staff are so kind. The free ice cream vending machines were our kiddos fave!"

"3 night stay, upgraded us to the Riverside, which was nice. You could hear the sound of the river even through the closed sliding door. Our room had a private onsen—very nice, just big enough for 2 and on a covered balcony. We walked 4 minutes away to an excellent sushi place two nights, and the last night had dinner in the hotel restaurant. Where I come from, hotel restaurants are best avoided, but let me tell you about this one: one of the best steaks of my life. It was a Wagu T-bone, and then in fairness, it was probably the most expensive stake of my life, but it was beautifully served. Both sides were removed from the bone and the bone served along with the meat. Along with steak, which was served on a hot stone that kept the meat warm for the duration of our meal – super nice touch— we’re small piles of smoked sea salt extra coarse, ground pepper create a horseradish and another beautiful compliment that the server identified as Yuzu. It had the texture of the greater horseradish and the most amazing flavor. Finally was a tiny sauce pan of a beautiful, brown mushroom red wine reduction. Incredible meal. We shared the steak and also shared several starters who is the perfect amount. Hotel also sports of very nice fitness gym with a rowing machine in three visits there I’ve never saw another soul. Gora is a bit of a challenge to get to. And if you’re adventurous and don’t have huge luggage, you could brave the hike from the station to the hotel. We did."

"This is an elegant and family oriented place. Everyone is so professional and attentive. The vibe is kind and relaxed. The food is delicious and the amenities are incredible. This Ryokan is beautiful. I suggest you get the big room with its own Onsen. It’s totally worth it. And if you have tattoos they are totally fine with it. Excellent experience. "

"Exceptional! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience & hospitality from the Nazuna Staff. From check-in and accommodations, everything was seamless. The private rooms are very spacious with plenty of walking space but the best part was the Onsen. You just can’t go back to public anymore. Breakfast & Dinner was amazing. We did not feel rushed during both meals, the Chefs and staff explained everything throughout the course. If you’re looking for an Onsen for the first time. This is the spot! Look no further."

"The view from our room was stunning and location is very convenient. We loved the japanese style room. We had the Kadan Suite with balcony (or so I thought). Based on the photos on the website, this is what we had. A bit confusing because we still had to have our Kaiseki meal in the restaurant. The website indicates only Annex Senshin and Meigetsu are served in the restaurant, but we were told ours was as well. Additionally, their facilities guide needs to be updated on their website. Club AI apparently does not exist anymore. The staff that greeted us upon arrival were friendly, but she only spoke and looked at my partner the entire time when explaining the facilities. Despite booking the room myself, I felt ignored and excluded. Even when asking a question, I was dismissed quickly. I found it odd. They also take quite some time to respond on expedia prior to arrival, but I am not sure if that is an app problem. The food was delicious. The server we had the first night was amazing. She explained each dish without looking at the menu and her service was consistent. She was very attentive. The other servers were just OK. They didn't explain the dishes as well and sometimes had to look at the menu. The inconsistencies were visible despite the food being delicious. Overall for the price, I would expect a higher level of service or at least a consistent one. For our next trip to Hakone, we will be trying another place."
