Sumatra hotel rooms a the Independent

"Air conditioning not satisfactory, room not serviced and had to ask for servicing. Staff are very nice. The pool is dirty and needs upgrading as does the entire hotel, very run down. I’m sure it was classy when first built but those days are in the distant past. Central location. Television not working properly. No SMART TV. Bidet broken and non existent, toilet seat broken."

"Agus at front desk was superb. He made my check in so smooth, and upgraded my room. Agus checked in many times to ensure my stay was comfortable. Also Agus arranged a breakfast box for me which came as a surprise. I have stayed at the same hotel for some times, this time was made so special by Agus, I was so thankful and appreciative. Thanks Agus"

"Foreign traveller one night. Front office manager tried to overcharge me for laundry. I ended up just leaving my clothes there. Front office manager tried to overcharge me for breakfast. I ended up just telling him to skip it. Front office manager tried to overcharge me for airport shuttle bus. I just ended up just taking Gojek. When writer brought this up to front office manager he demanded the prices he wanted, argued in length with writer in the front lobby of the hotel in front of other patrons and his staff. Awful, stressful experience, will not be staying there again."

"Room was clean and spacious. Dinner in the restaurant was decent and affordable. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet, except Christmas music playing in the hallway in the morning (mid-January). Breakfast was good, even though we arrived just before it ended. Stepped out of the hotel into departures. Excellent value for an airport hotel. "
