"In the room the carpet was filthy. The mattresses were too soft. The internet was poor. The downstairs area looked very uninviting, like it had been left to rot. It was dark and depressing. There was no nice common area to sit and relax in. The carpet on the way to the rooms looked like it hadn't been changed since the 1950s and was threadbare and dirty. The area near the landing toilets was old and smelled of sewage The whole place needs an absolutely thorough makeover."

"Beautiful venue. A little dated now. Could do with new mattresses. Children running around the corridors at midnight from a birthday party was a problem. Called the night porter twice and nothing happened so had to deal with it myself."

"The woman who served me in the bar on Tuesday 28th April was very nice and friendly. The breakfast was very good with a great selection, even though I arrived fairly late. It’s a lovely hotel, but a shame there isn’t a swimming pool."

"Great room,clean, comfortable and perfect for our one night stay. Great bath and shower with plenty of hot water. Enjoyed a lovely carvery meal in the evening but skipped breakfast as we had a long drive. Food menu very comprehensive and very reasonably priced. Lovely staff."
