"We had a one night stay in a standard room while visiting friends in the area. Very expensive on a Saturday for what you get, but that’s York I suppose! The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. We brought our dog, the pet fee is £25 - bowls and a bed are provided in the room but you don’t get a welcome treat like in many pet-friendly hotels. It is a shame the Malmaison no longer has a stocked mini-bar in its rooms, and the toiletries are very basic now, they used to feel nice...

The rooms were clean and they added a note on the mirror as we was away for my Girlfriend’s birthday wishing her a happy birthday which we thought was a great touch.
