"Original room smelled like faeces and I was already running late for a function so asked for a new room. The lady at the desk insisted that no one would be free for the next 2 hours to deliver our new room key and insisted we come down for the key. Did we make the room smell like faeces? Was there any attempt to make our stay feel better after that experience. I’m not sure who she was but she was very rude on the phone, didn’t say bye and hung up on me. Won’t be staying here again. I’m a doctor who goes above and beyond for patients at work, you’d think when I have time off, someone working is hospitality would be hospitable in return. Never again."

"This hotel claims to be 4 star. At best it is 2 star. Old rooms with poor facilities. Dreadfully slow service and poor food. And on this occasion, air conditioning that did not work - a minor detail that they did not tell me about when checking in. I am not sure you star ranks these hotels, but they need to have some training. Shocking."

"Breakfast wasnt up to par - coffee was very late (20 mins +), staff dont look to be attentive (cant catch their eye) - we stayed to spoil ourselves for what is a very expensive breakfast in a city with a LOT of choice, e.g. instead of going to a lovely Cafe very close or even weatherspoons (yep I went there!) - wish I hadnt stayed, should have been £5, not a penny more (off the bill!) - weatherspoons would knock spots off this shoddy dry option to be fair. I was not aware until after, that we could effectivly 'complain' (see 'order' - though no idea where this is) and get something 'fresh', like the table next to us. _ Rest of the stay was Fab, but I will not stay for brekkie ever again. I would rather pack rice crispies and eat them raw - it was the only spoiler of our stay."

"We had a lovely and comfortable stay in this well-located house. Even though I missed the check-in time details, Lisa was extremely accommodating and gave us a very warm welcome. She also recommended some great places to eat and visit, which we really appreciated. We would happily stay here again."

"Bearing in mind that this pub prides itself on its restaurant meals, there is no provision for a cooked breakfast. You only get to know that the breakfast is what they call 'continental' after you have booked. This comprises tea, coffee, fruit juice, yoghurt, flapjack, milk and small boxed cereal. One of our cereal boxes had an expired BBD, so we left it out so that the staff could see it when we were out (there wasn't anyone around to mention this to) but it had been put back in the cupboard there for us the next day, along with a second box! The day we arrived (Friday) there appears to have been a special event at The Queens. This meant that music was blaring out until nearly 1am and noisy customers at the front of the pub which we could hear even though the windows were closed. Needless to say we weren't told about this when we booked either, or even had it mentioned when we checked in, although to be fair the pub was very busy and the staff probably had other things on their minds. There is no dedicated check-in desk so we had to wait until one of the bar staff was available to give us our key and show us to the room, which was very comfortable and clean. Parking is on a first come, first served basis and given the event on the Friday evening, we had to park some way from the pub in the village as it was so busy."

"Very basic room, clean and functional but right next to the A38 so traffic noise all night. Pillows were completely flat so not ideal. Really disappointed with the food offer. When I booked I was asked if I wanted a £40 food voucher for what I assumed was £20. This wasn’t the offer at all so not sure why you would buy a £40 food voucher if you weren’t benefiting from it! Food was ok standard but expensive for what it was. Room served a purpose as its only a 5 minute drive to the airport but wouldn’t stay again."
