"My room was only refreshed once during my 5 day stay. I had to go ask for new towels on wells twice. Restaurants not open all day. You must schedule your day around restaurant hours unless you want to pay for meals outside the resort. Staff not very accommodating and no onsite place to buy souvenirs or necessities. "

"Rooms were nice and staff was friendly. Property was fine. They are definitely on vacation time as meals are slow (2+ hours for a meal). The restaurants leave a bit to be desired. Poesia was not great at all - probably the worst meal in our party we had in the whole island and the worst Italian. The place is new but the chef is trying to be too creative with limited access to ingredients. A few people had a shrimp dish with tomatoes and no-one had tomatoes in it. Azure is okay - mediocre. If you want good meals, you have to go off the Crane property to restaurants along the coast."

"We had a lovely stay here. The Gem was immaculate, the view from the back porch was stunning, the host was very kind and helpful, and there was pretty much everything you could need there. It’s a 10 minute walk up to the bus stop (if you don’t mind the chaos of the buses), and there are a couple of mini marts along the main road. A 30 minute walk away (off road) is Dis Ole House, which is a very vibey restaurant. Otherwise there just isn’t much locally. If you’re staying for the touristy things (we did), most activities are in Bridgetown. The buses are very cheap, but it’s an expensive taxi (about 45-60 mins). We would recommend renting a car if you do choose to stay here!"

"A very tranquil place surrounded by beautiful scenery. The accomodation is tired but has everything you need. Ideally you need to have your own transport if you want to get around. Tom the owner could not have been more welcoming and helpful "

"I booked this property through Expedia under stressful circumstances — Barbados air traffic controllers went on strike, my flight was canceled, and I was stranded along with many other travelers. I found this listing, booked it, received a confirmation number, and paid for a taxi to get there. When I arrived, the owner told me she had no room for me and that the property was fully booked. I had to advocate for myself and explain that I had a valid confirmation number and nowhere else to go. To her credit, she ultimately found a solution — another couple who had also booked that day agreed to share their two-bedroom unit with me, which I appreciated. However, the overall experience left me uneasy. When I asked for a glass of tap water, I was told she didn’t have any and was offered a bottle of water for $2. I explained I was running low on cash since I hadn’t planned to still be in Barbados. She eventually did give me a bottle of water, but the fact that her first instinct was to charge a stranded traveler for water was off-putting. Everything worked out in the end, but the process was stressful and unwelcoming. If you’re booking here, just know that there may be a disconnect between what the booking system reflects and actual availability — and that the hospitality experience may be inconsistent. Future travelers should keep that in mind. "

"We booked last minute due to a flight cancellation, the owner and onsite property manager were lovely to deal with and accomodated us. We were given clean sheets and 2 towels and the bed was made. It was comfortable, the pullout divan was stained and not comfortable, those things typically are not. The place had not been cleaned and there was no handsoap and little toilet paper. The outside area was very nice, the inside area is like a very rustic old north american cottage. Very old gas stove and minimal dishes and cutlery. It is in the countryside, so quiet but on well water, so we went with bottled. The property is fully gated, including windows, doors, driveway. Taxi service is no problem."
