"This was my first experience in Hostel living. Check in or out was the issue and don’t know how to reach to someone for check in buzz was not working, with luggage and no sim was the challenge, for one night. But was convenient location . House keeper was trying hard to keep the facility clean. For bedsheet charges first time I learned. Ok for one night or 2 . Not more in my opinion. "Excellent small, friendly family run hotel in the middle of this small town, within walking distance of the spa and main shops and restaurants. The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday evenings so, sadly, we could not eat there. The nearby Maison au Marché was excellent, but avoid the Wintzner (menu too complicated and very slow service). Good parking, great breakfast, nice outdoor seating area. EV charging about 1km away with 2 rapid chargers. Overall very comfortable and peaceful. No air conditioning but the provided fan worked well."

"Hervorragende Lage des Hotels für Besuche in Basel. Zimmer sauber, aber bei einem ausgewiesenen 3-Bett Zimmer erwarte ich, dass auch 3 vollwertige Betten vorhanden sind und nicht nur eine schmale Liege als 3. Bett. Großzügiger Parkplatz. Wir waren vor einem Jahr ebenfalls in diesem Hotel, damals war 1 Fahrstuhl in Betrieb, 2 Fahrstühle waren außer Betrieb. An diesem Zustand hat sich nichts geändert. Nicht nachvollziehbar, dass die Fa. Haushahn es innerhalb eines Jahres nicht schaffen soll, das Problem zu lösen. 1 Fahrstuhl für ein 10-stöckiges Hotel ist schon taff. Das Frühstück für 19 € ist wirklich 08-15. Die Stühle im Frühstücksraum sind durchgesessen und bedürfen einer Erneuerung. Kein wahrnehmbarer Service im Frühstücksraum, d.h. kein Personal, das mal benutztes Geschirr abräumt etc. Wir werden vermutlich trotzdem wieder kommen, einfach weil die Lage für unsere Unternehmungen optimal ist."

"Expedia fails to protect its customers when the service is not delivered as expected. During our stay, renovation work started directly above our room at 7:00 a.m. without any prior notice. The noise was extremely loud, woke us up immediately, and made it impossible to return to sleep. This significantly impacted our stay and our ability to use the room for its primary purpose. This was meant to be a short vacation to rest, but instead it was disrupted in a way that made it impossible to relax. We reported the issue to reception as soon as it opened at 8:00 a.m., after trying unsuccessfully to rest for an hour. The solutions offered were not practical, as the disruption had already occurred. The hotel staff acknowledged the issue on site and indicated that compensation would be provided. However, after our departure, they refused to offer any compensation or resolution. What is particularly disappointing is how this situation was handled by Expedia. Despite clear evidence of a service failure, the case was treated as a standard cancellation request rather than “service not provided as expected.” The case was closed based solely on the property’s response, without addressing the actual issue. As the issue remains unresolved, I have initiated a chargeback process with my bank due to the failure to provide the service as expected."
