Pocaterra Inn and Waterslide

"Breakfast was good. Staff were great, quiet hotel despite all the families and children. Pool and slide was small but fun. Rooms were good, relatively clean but need maintenance. Chips and dents in walls peeling wallpaper and lots of dust but overall a good hotel."

"I would have given full 5 star review. However, there are things that take away a star, if not 2. 1. The quality of room cleaning service was not great. I found my PJ that I left on the bed being thrown on the sofa. Very strange. 2. The garbage bin in the bathroom was left on the toilet cover. Were they in such a hurry? After seeing all these, we declined for future room cleaning services. Not impressed. 3. This is an interior designer issue. The show door can only be opened around 45 degrees as it is hitting the huge shower head. I hit it every time I opened the shower door no matter how careful I was. 4. The restaurant in the hotel is expensive and nothing special about it. There is a grill in the restaurant for grilling breads and it is a joke. I left my piece of bread there for 5 minutes and it could only warm it up but not more than that. For price of $550+ per night (we stay for 4 nights), it does not feel right. I am not sure if this is a pro or con. Our room door opens directly to the outside so we needed to get dressed well just to access the lobby."

Otter Hotel

"Just felt mid. Everything was clean. Some stuff in the room was in not the best repair. Everything worked but paint, shower sealing were below average. Wife and I both found the bed lacking. Had a great view but give you balcony chairs that are little better then plastic lawn chairs and don't want to sit on them more then 5 minutes. View was good. But can be noisy. Staff were excellent. They really made the stay for us. They were helpful. We had a little complaint about timing of house keeping. Just wish it was a consistent time 1day it was not till after noon another very early so we missed it. I have no doubt they wouldn't have come of we called but not something I want to hang done. Hot pools where nice if not amazing. They gave us a bus pass for the week for route 1 which was a bonus Restaurants in the otter and next door canoe (Sister hotel) Was good and good value. The main reason we are giving the score we are is the value over all. It just didn't feel like like it was worth it. Everything was good or fine (minus the staff they are great). We could have stayed in one of the cheap apartments right next door and got the same view, same restaurants. Just missing out on the pool and bus pass which we could do both for a nominal fee to do anyway. If you like the hotel experience this will work. Want to save a bit, other options are available that get you 90% of the benefits. Overall thank you Otter hotel for having us and we hope this helps someone make a choice."

"Nakitah, Alicia, Sebastian and Jack were amazing and so helpful! They really go above and beyond to ensure a positive and enjoyable stay for all the patrons. I highly recommend the Banff Rocky Mountain Resort for your next stay!! Thanks again so much. Especially to Jack for taking my dog for a walk while I was in the hospital. You guys made our experience amazing!"
