"The staff were lovely, the hotel you could tell was once beautiful in its hay day but although it's had a clean paint job it was in need of some tlc. Our room was big and clean but bizarrely the plugs in the main room didn't work if you turned the light off?? We did not mension this to the staff as it was late when we found out and other than not being able to charge our phone it wasn't really a problem. The main disappointment was for the price, the rooms did not offer air con and were very hot with just one fan provided for the three of us. The beds were comfortable and the room was quiet. We were going to a festival at the castle so it was fantastic in location. The overall experience was good, but expected more for what we paid. But again the reception staff, waiting staff and the cleaning crew where all really great !!!!"
