"Everything was nice but they didn’t have complimentary breakfast and their deposit fee is 300. Insane amount. Parking is also charged by the hour, and the price was for a night of parking was outrageous"

"The main manager was sooo rude . She needs more training & perhaps a new job if she is going to act like she hates her job so much. Also, charged us wrong for parking and wouldn’t reimburse per her being wrong. Other than that location is excellent ! The hotel itself is decent , would’ve expected more for a “4Star” hotel but not much complaints. Wouldn’t be my first choice but it’s not such a terrible choice either."

"If you have a car be prepared to pay 50/night for parking which is pretty common for all downtown properties. This property is affordable so it does offset the cost.fpr parking. Smaller rooms are perfect for solo traveler or a very close couple lookingfor an intimate space. The only other thing is you can hear the party crowd at 3AM on Saturday night after bar close but that might be common for downtown property. Great staff, awesome free coffee, ice water and bacon, egg, cheese breakfast sandwhich (small fee for breakfast sandwhich). Cute lobby. Great diner across street for lunch! Walgreens 1 minute away."

"I’m surprised how high the reviews were for this hotel. I felt absolutely tricked when I got inside the room. The rooms are SO dated and not in a vintage way - more in an old, never been renovated way. The rooms are tiny! The beds are so hard and uncomfortable and the comforters/pillows seem like they’ve not been refreshed in 20 years. The location is the only redeeming aspect of this hotel as it’s right on Michigan avenue. That however causes the room to be quiet noisy with street noise from busy Michigan avenue. I definitely would not stay here again unless it gets a major refresh/tenovation. "

"Our family of 4 checked in on Thursday and checked out on Sunday. We have stayed at several hotels in Chicago, but moved the Embassy Suites. The living room has a nice pullout couch that was surprisingly comfortable. The mini fridge was nice to keep some leftovers. We didn't use the microwave, but it was nice to have. The kids loved playing at the pool and really just loved playing in the room, too. We loved the separate living room area, so the kids had their own room at night. The free breakfast was by far the best free breakfast any hotel has ever offered that we've visited. It's so worth it, since it has something for everyone. The hot food consisted of eggs, breakfast potatoes/hash browns, sausage, and pancakes/waffles/French toast on rotation. There is also a chef to cook eggs/omelet to your liking. There's cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit, yogurt, and probably more that I missed. The staff at the hotel were all extremely nice and helpful. The location is in a prime location near Michigan Ave and the L. We also walked to Shedd Aquarium from the hotel. It's a trek, but so nice to walk by the lake. The kids both want to stay at the Embassy Suites the next time we stay in Chicago, so it got a 5 star rating in their eyes, too! Fabulous stay!!"

"For a downtown hostel, the experience was great. I stayed in a quad female room with no major complaints. The bathroom was an ensuite and fairly clean. The bed was quite comfortable with one pillow, one sheet, and one comforter provided. Staff were very pleasant throughout. The room didn’t have much of a view; it faced a parking lot with some constant background noise, but that’s fine if you’re just using this hostel as a place to sleep. A very small locker was provided for valuables (a bring-your-own-lock situation). The curtains on the bed don’t quite cover all the way, so there were little gaps in privacy here and there. On a particularly humid day, the AC didn’t kick on, so it became a bit stuffy in the room. At night, the lower floor becomes a popular cocktail bar, but impressively no noise reached my floor (4). Generally the building is older and needs some paint and repairs here and there, but it gets the job done. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe and comfortable throughout. Would stay here again for the cost."
