Top South Side Hotel Reviews
Chicago Marriott Midway
10/10 Excellent
"Staff are very nice!"
Jaslin Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This is my second stay at the Jaslin and I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff is kind and professional, the rooms have everything we need and are well kept, the view is incredible, and the location is awesome! You can easily walk to anywhere in Chinatown. My friend and I even walked to Soldier Field from this hotel (I believe it was about 1.5 miles). You’re a 10-15 minute ride from places like the Art Institute, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, and Union Station. If you’re coming in from O’Hare, take the blue line to downtown before getting a ride, it’ll save you a lot of time. I will definitely stay here again!"
Chinatown Hotel Chicago
8/10 Good
"Honestly, our room was more expensive than what it's worth because there was a big concert in downtown Chicago and everything closer was easily more expensive or in really sketchy areas. It is pretty rundown and need of a deep clean (it smelled like dust and mildew pretty much everywhere but in our room.)There's no appliances in the room, but the air conditioning worked really well, so there's that. We didn't encounter any roaches or bedbugs or anything, but there was visible mold in the shower and sink drain. The bathroom door was also completely off the bottom set of hinges, but the staff did offer to fix it! (We didn't care enough to have them do so haha) The saving grace for this hotel was that it's right in the middle of Chinatown, and it felt like a pretty safe area. There's paid public parking lots and pay-to-park spots on the streets, but the area is walkable and there's buses and a train station less than a block over. The staff was super nice, though! They have a ring camera at the front desk for outside of business hours in case no one's there. I needed more towels before the hotel was technically open, and I swear the guy had ran to get there so he could grab them for me. Overall, I've definitely stayed at worse hotels, but they definitely were cheaper than this one haha."
