Top South East England Hotel Reviews

Bloc Hotel London Gatwick Airport
10/10 Excellent
"Clean convenient classy "

Novotel Southampton
4/10 Poor
"Vastly overpriced and understaffed for what it is. Reminded me of a 1970's idea of what a reasonable hotel was. Positives: the staff are great but not enough of them. If they're on minimum wage it's criminal, they were so busy and deserve a LOT more.
Negatives: Executive room, really? Separate toilet and bathroom with 1970's rendering on the walls. The TV is one step up from Cathode ray tubes, no casting here! Air con? Nope, you get a fan, in any colour as long as its white! Restaurant, apparently opens at 6pm but no-one there til 6.45. Gave up and went to the local Italian. Breakfast, nearly £20 per person and one, yes 1 Coffee machine for a restaurant that looks like it accommodates 100+. We waited nearly 15 minutes for Coffee by which time our breakfast was cold. The hotels one and only redeeming feature is it proximity to the docks. That's it. And at £260 per night per room you know it's a scam. Avoid, stay further out of town and use the short stay car parks by the docks."

Radisson RED London Gatwick Airport
10/10 Excellent
"First class service and a very pleasant and handy place to stay"

Leonardo Royal Southampton Grand Harbour
8/10 Good
"Convenient to walking around area and close to cruise terminal."

Copthorne Hotel Slough-Windsor
8/10 Good
"Brakfast had a good choice and the taste was good. My only complaint was it was not hot it was only warm."

Hilton London Gatwick Airport
6/10 Okay
"Convenient after getting off a long flight; organised staff provided a quick check in when we arrived. This is a large hotel which meant we had a long walk down corridors with heavy bags - no offer to assist or provision of a luggage cart. Ordered a panini from room service - the worst I have ever seen - dried bread with a bit of melted cheese and ham - virtually inedible so give it a miss. Breakfast had a good range of food though only warm from the buffet. Convenience is its best attribute - certainly not up to the same standard as the Hilton properties in Australia - maybe because they have a captive audience."

ibis Brighton City Centre - Station
8/10 Good
"No eggs at breakfast. Staff great. Very flexible with looking after our bags "

Moxy Southampton
10/10 Excellent
"Perfect place for those taking a cruise from Southampton. We walked to the Sea City Museum. Hotel is close to the port and the train station."

Hotel La Tour
8/10 Good
"We would return to this hotel, because in many ways it was lovely! Super park view, well organised breakfast, sky bar views, great location-we stayed 3 nights-great value for money. Car parking was not a problem, plenty of spaces but pricing confusing! We arrived at the car park 3-5pm and left 10.30-11am each day-and was charged £9 each day! The hotel said it was cheaper if they didn't endorse the ticket-so we didn't! I will add a photo of the car park notice-confusing! and the one at the hotel for the surface car parking which seemed to be accurate!
The room was spacious, but at 5'3'' I nearly had to take a running jump to get on the bed-it was so high! Only one chair for both of us, so it was a hot seat to try to get on first!
It would have been good for both of us to be able to sit with a cuppa and look at the view in the morning! After first night the room was made up, second day we came back to dirty cups, full bins etc-apparently you have to ask for your room to be made up?
In the evening bar staff stood around chatting, quick to get orders-but slow to deliver! One evening we waited over half an hour for 2 hot chocolates (they did only charge us for one when they eventually came) Bar and restaurant food-limited and expensive."
