Top Slate Islands Hotel Reviews

The Isle of Mull Hotel and Spa

10/10 Excellent

"Great setting, friendly staff, nice restaurant"

Knipoch House Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Very comfortable hotel in a great location. Spacious bedroom and lounge areas. The covered outdoor hot tub was great. Service was rather mixed - from the mostly proactive, friendly helpful to the slightly 1970s approach to Scottish hospitality whether in attitude to serving or poor restocking of the breakfast buffet. The cooked breakfasts were very good."

Muthu Alexandra Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay at the Muthu Alexandra in Oban was memorable from the start. Our room had a lovely sea view, truly gorgeous, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The whole place feels stately and Victorian, full of old-world charm. The staff were polite and helpful throughout. Even with the lift out, being on the first floor made it easy. Overall, a classic, comfortable stay we’d gladly repeat."

The Whisky Vaults

8/10 Good

"Excellent location right in the centre of Oban and within easy walking distance of everything. Car park was across the street - so handy. Room was very small - described as a standard double, but it would have been better to flag the size up and then expectations would be better managed! No breakfast on site, but we were given a takeaway bag. Excellent recommendation to try the little green fish shack on the harbour - best prawn sandwich I have ever had. Oban itself is a lovely place with beautiful sceney and some interesting little shops."

Perle Oban Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good

"Room clean but in need of a paint touch up and carpet cleaning. Lift broken on arrival day. Property can use a refreshing. Room view was as pictured on site. Bedding very comfortable. Suggest two luggage racks. Appears others have used and scratched the cocktail table. Breakfast was well done, dinner needs to be booked - do so before arrival if an early time is required. Would be nice to have tablecloths at dinner. Bar made a good cocktail. Great location."
