Valverde Sintra Palácio de Seteais - The Leading Hotels of the World
10/10 Excellent
"We highly recommend staying here to truly enjoy Sintra. We were greeted with friendly staff, a fresh lemonade drink and pastry. We felt welcome.
We only stayed a few days as this is all the time we had however it was perfect for a few days visiting this beautiful place.
The hotel rooms were clean, linens were high quality, we received a friendly personal note to welcome us. Great touch. The food in the restaurant was delicious, we ate a few meals there in addition to the breakfast which was delightful, the staff that took care of us were all friendly and professional. The grounds were breathtaking. We wish we had more time there. We would come back again. "
"The room was large but it needs to be renovated, it is showing its age. It was nice to have a balcony but the chairs, table and floors were dirty. The breakfast was nice it had a good selection. We took advantage of the Happy Hour and prices and selection were good. The Lobby is lovely. The staff at the front desk and bar were very nice and accommodating.
The location is great right in the historical center. The major issue was getting to the hotel. Uber drivers are not sure where to drop you off and cannot enter the historic center because of the hydraulic bollard in the middle of the street. We had to walk about 1 mile uphill with our luggage, not an easy task and if you have any kind of disability it is an impossible task. Also due that impasse they cannot pick you up in front of the hotel either.
All in all, we were pleased with our stay but due to these issues we would never stay there again.

"We loved the Chalet in Sintra!!! This had been constructed as a mansion 150 years ago and had been converted into a boutique hotel. They accommodated an early check in and upgraded us to a suite on the top floor for half the upgrade price. Our room had a view of the ocean!
The property was light on amenities, but it was not the sort of place focused on that. It was quaint, romantic, comfortable, clean, with excellent bathrooms. It had maintained much of its 19th century charm and fit in so nicely with the vibe of the village. The was an incredible restaurant across the street, and a excellent cafe up 1 block. The main town was just a quarter mile down the road.
The staff was incredibly helpful not only with the hotel but with reservations, sightseeing guidance, etc.
Would love to stay here again."
