"This was our decompress detour after Tokyo and it was just that! Room was very comfortable for a traditional Japanese room and the private onsen was the perfect addition. Breakfast and dinner are included and although they were also very traditional and farm-to-table, they weren’t my personal cup of tea but that just may be preference."
"The one amenity that makes this property enjoyable is the private bath on the outdoor deck. WiFi never worked the three days of our stay. The property is located on a hillside so be prepared to walk steep slopes or take a taxi. "

We dined at the hotel for breakfast and dinner -both were excellent but a special kudos to our chef for evening dinner as the steak was exceptional!
The location is by the river but no walking path and there is some construction (reason for 4star ) but I would stay here again as we could easily walk to several attractions -gorgeous gardens and the outdoor sculpture museum .It is a little hilly but worth the effort.
The hotel also provided a shuttle service to local stations that were prompt and well organized."
