The room room was extremely dirty there were even cigarette butts laying on the bathroom floor. The bathroom looked like it has not been cleaned in over a year. The only place that was clean was the front desk and lobby.
Everything was Good Until I took a shower the water get full the tub and I think the water in the drain was coming back up while I was taking a shower it was. Disgusting
There was a water leak in our room, we called the front desk and they sent a gentleman to come look at it. When he went back and told the lady at the front desk about it, she came back and asked if it was really that bad, as if she didn't want to switch us into a different room. Rooms were barely put together in the first place...
Upon arrival, there were no towels or wash rags at all. When we asked for these items, we were told that we shouldn’t have had a ‘do not disturb’ sign on the door!! Upon check in mind you!!! The room was pretty dirty, bath tub was gross; we actually bought our own disinfectant to clean the bathroom. There was trash (including dip tobacco) underneath the bed, and these
beds are not low to the ground. The breakfast was very sad. It consisted of small bagels, no cream cheese, (2) different types of cereal, and white bread. I did, however, like the vinyl ‘hardwood’ floors and the smart TV and the mattress was pretty comfortable. I usually don’t even make good ratings, but this place was really disappointing.
Looking for a nice place to stay in Shelbyville? This isn't it. If you just need a bed, toilet and shower, they have those. Eventhough we had one of the renovated rooms with nice, new furniture, the fit and finish of the room was terrible. Killed a big roach in the sink the first morning, and then found a large slug on the bathroom wall that night! A slug! Room was poorly ventilated and mold in the bathroom demonstrated that. I have stayed here a number of times in the past because of the location and relatively inexpensive rates, but not again. I wasn't expecting much, and that is what I got. Management needs to put more effort into keeping this motel alive, and not a dive.

Staff was hatefull very mean lied to us house keeper well knock on your door even if you have a do not desturb
The remodeled rooms are reserved for their “SPECIAL “ guests. African Americans are placed in the middle hallway in the mildewed, bug infested run down rooms according to the guest. See photos.
The people at front desk were very nice. Condition of room was poor. Some lamps had no light bulbs, no Kleenex in container and towels and wash cloths although laundered had spots on them. Pet fee was fair but there were no areas outside that were mowed on which the pets could relieve themselves. A non-smoking room had been requested but obviously had previously been a smoking room.
This motel needs much work to make it a pleasant place in which to stay.
If you want a hot shower and a decent bed this place may get you by. No soap, shampoo ,a little to spartanish for me. This place need a makeover to say the least.
This property has roaches and is filthy. Nothing else needs to be said.

There were fruit flies all in the room, and they were dead ones or previously killed bugs but were just left on the wall.

Concerned
My sister & myself were attending and helping with a family wedding. Door lock with card worked, but door inside security lock did not work at all. Door did not fit properly and inside lock didn't latch into the
Lock hole in the door frame. This is a safety issue which should be addressed. Floor had dead bugs lying around next to the walls.
Many people live there full time and stay up all hours of the night, drinking, smoking and playing music. I thought the Manager was rude and the continental breakfast is cereal and no coffee the first day. The second day there were waffles and a little more coffee. I don’t recommend this place.
This hotel was terrible. The lobby has a musty smell. We waited for ten minutes, then had to use a phone on the counter to call the clerk. The room was just as bad. There was a roach in the bathroom and we only had a half of a roll of toilet paper and one towel each. We had about six channels on the tv. Will never stay here again!
Dirty rooms, terrible staff, insects, mold, and dirty linens. I reserved this room for my children 20 and 18 who were going on their first road trip. They picked this place because it was so affordable. They wish they had picked sacrificed a few extra dollars and stayed somewhere else. I made the reservations a few months in advance, at that time I called and spoke with the owner to pre-arrange for my under 21 children to be allowed to check in. I was assured by the owner that they would allow them to check-in without a problem. I called again 4 weeks before the travel date, spoke with the owner again and again he assured me that there would not be a problem with the age of the guests as long as they were over 18 and had valid ID. When they arrived the front desk was vacant, they waited then they called the phone number and no one answered. Finally, over 20 minutes later someone came in to check them in. Photo attached shows unoccupied desk. Of course, they were told that they could not check in because they were under 21. My children called me, I spoke with the clerk and explained my 2 phone calls with the owner, but still they were denied. Thankfully, I was able to contact the wonderful Hotels.com customer service who called the hotel clerk and facilitated the hotel honoring the reservation. Unfortunately, once they inspected their room, they wish they had saved their $75/night and just slept in their SUV.
This building should be condemned. Our room was infested with sewer flies, indicative of poor ventilation and potential carbon monoxide. There were chunks of hair on the bathroom counter, dead beetles in the bathroom, the tub was filthy, stains on the walls. There was also a live tick on the wall near the bed.
