Sheffield hotel rooms a the Hoteles Globales

"Nice location but the actual hotel need updating. They have slapped some paint around but it needs a proper refit. Also the beds are very hard"

" The hotel gave me a different room from original booking, the pre parking arrangements did not work. The food in the bar area on Friday night was very poor. The hotel had a power cut on Friday night and building work outside the hotel, which began at 7.45 Monday morning. I had a long discussion with reception about my parking in which he tried to blame a third party and it was my responsibility to sort it out! The only way I could sort this out was by getting a refund and arranging alternative parking. Service not expected by this chain of hotel."

"Kind staff and nice food and drink. Especially the £15.95 deal for pizza and drink. Room was decent but it could do with some better facilities as windows didn't open, no wardrobe and towels kept falling off the metal ball. Sink was also easily blocked due to drainage issues"

"Stay here often and usually very good. This time, my double room was clearly a twin with the beds pushed together, as one of the headboards was half over the bed and half not and there was a light switch behind our heads and only one bedside table. Despite being told at reception that all facilities were working, the jacuzzi wasn't, nor was the shower by the pool and the steam room broke down on the second day."

"This is was a very good hotel in a great location. The staff were fabulous and very helpful. It was a 5 minute walk into the centre of town. I would definitely stay there again. Half price parking was great. We ate at the hotel a couple of times and the soup was delicious. "

"The room was sort of clean but had clearly seen better days. The bathroom was not great. The toilet roll holder had been pulled out of the wall by a previous guest and was just hanging there. The towel rail did not work and was thick with dust, the walls were scuffed and marked for what appeared to be a long time. I like the hotel, have stayed before but they do need to sort out the rooms "

"I was honestly a bit nervous about staying here, mainly because I'm a solo female traveller so staying anywhere unfamiliar is a little nerve wracking but also because of a few bad reviews. I stayed overnight as I was going on a long hike and needed somewhere to stay so I wasn't travelling back too late. The hotel held my luggage before check in then promptly handed it back when I was ready to check in, and they even held it again after check out so I could explore the city luggage free before my coach home. I was pleasantly surprised that I was on the top floor, as I am a big fan of the views and of quietness. They also had a couple of extras in the mini fridge for me for free and said it was an upgrade, maybe because I'm a new customer, but either way, it was a nice surprise. The shower didn't work, or at least, I couldn't figure it out, but the bath taps ran so I had a bath instead which was fine, the hot water ran which is all I needed after a long hike. For a three star hotel, I was pleased with everything and it was all clean. I didn't sleep the best as I was so nervous being on my own which is a shame because the beds were so comfy and the room was so big. As I plan to come to Sheffield again, I'd definitely rebook Great Western Hotel, in the hopes every room was like this one, and knowing there is nothing to worry about, so I'll sleep soundly.
