Lovely quiet spot, great for having a drink in the garden after a day out. Pet friendly which was great. The dog was able to stay in the room and go in the bar too which was nice. Unfortunately the room was not very clean. There was dust and cobwebs everywhere. The skirting boards hadn't been touched. The bathroom was clean but not a deep clean level as there was dust and grime around the toilet. The towels were plentiful and clean. The bedding was clean but the divan itself had a stain as though someone had dropped tea/coffee down it. Overall, the cleanliness wasn't to the standard you'd expect. Staff were very friendly but we weren't told where to go for breakfast or how to order for subsequent mornings. Unfortunately the breakfast was also disappointing. 2 rashers of bacon in a dry, toasted bread roll. Stale cereal. Inadequate options if you wanted dairy free or vegetarian options. Although I was told I could call through for more oat milk if I needed. You got one small slice of toast. A very small glass of juice. The breakfast is included in the nightly rate though. Sorry, it just wasn't great and doesn't set you up for the day.

We realised that the current owners only took over in May this year, but the room could have done with a really good deep clean and even though they didn’t make the bedding it would have been nice for clean cups for tea/coffee

In need of TLC

Basic room as expected but very poor lighting, dirty windows, lack of attention to detail (light bulbs filthy and some not working, no evidence of dusting skirtings), general grubbiness, particularly in the bathroom which is long overdue a refit - washbasin cracked, grout dirty, blackmould around shower screen, broken bath panel.
