its a tourist area with visits by cruise ships. excellent spot to hop on glacier and wildlife tours. we took a helicopter to a glacier for dog sledding. amazing alaska stuff. wonderful. dining good with 30 minute wait for a table for 4.

Great views, excellent options of Kenai boat tours, nice assortment of shops. 2 cruise ships were in port during our visit. It makes for a busy place. But I'd definitely come back here for a visit.
