Sossusvlei Lodge

"Location ideal to visit Sossusvlei as the lodge is next to Sesriem entry gate. The view from the rooms is beautiful, endless desert where you can observe Oryx. Food is a buffet with good grill selection. I stayed in the junior suite. The room is very spacious with really nice terrace. Note that the private pool is not heated, so if you don’t appreciate cold water you will never use it. One negative note I shared to the management is that the « tent-like » cover they put on top of each lodge is making a lot of noise on the ceiling when there is wind, making it very hard to sleep. At this price range, this is an issue. I would have put 5* if it wasn’t for the quality of my sleep"

"The Hoodia Lodge was a luxurious and satisfying experience. From the initial greeting by the host, and staff, to the smartly-appointed chalet (with outdoor shower), to the romantic Sundowner on the mountain and the all-day excursion to Sossusvlei/Deadvlei with our excellent Guide Enos. Everything was done with class. We felt totally spoiled."

"The property was absolutely beautiful, well run and staff were great, the rooms are stunning. My issue wasn’t with the property but with the map on Expedia, it implies the property is very near the entrance to the park and the dot was not in the right place, it was a very long and dust road! So we were a little disappointed on the way there but we were happy when we eventually got there. If I’d known where it was when I booked this wouldn’t have bothered us"

"Positive: It’s a great place, great staff and it’s great place to stay before visiting Susvelei.they offer many tours and can help you with an itinerary and transportation as a package. Negative: the wifi didn’t work. Not sure if this is an on going issue or just when we were there. The pool water is extremely cold in the winter. I wish they had a way to warm the water or turn it into a Jacuzzi. I wish dinner included more traditional Namibian food options to try instead of mainly western food."

"The view is exceptional, absolutely outstanding, very beautiful. The only blemish for me was that the carpets were drenched, wet, and there was no hot water. In their defense I have to say though that there were very peculiar weather days preceding our stay there. Heavy rain in mid winter which is totally outside the norm and unheard of, and very cold days, even when we arrived it was still bitterly cold. One highlight though were the hot water bags that they placed in our beds while we were at dinner."
