Right in the heart of myeongdong and pretty quite at night
I was a little worried before I checked in because the reviews weren't perfect, but I found that other than the price being a bit high based on the size of the room, everything else was great. Staff are friendly and helpful; roommates are nice; bedsheets are clean. I definitely will choose it again!
Great location, rooms comfortable and clean, sofas and a kitchenette space in the basement, code lockers for valuables.
Not suitable for a school group.
Only bathroom is in the basement, access only via public spaces.
Toilets on halfway landings instead between floors. No doors on the communal showers.
Seversl sdults walk around naked in hostel.
Reception open 11am to 11pm. Public access bar and hence entire hostel.
No lock in the rooms. Loud disruptions during night due to revellers returning.
Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. Assisted me with exchanging notes for smaller change. Very convenient to be in Meongdong. Room has AC which made it easier to control the temperature within the room. Showers don't come with amenities though, but there is a vending machine where you can purchase your own amenities for relatively cheap price. Unfortunately, there were noisy people on my last night, talking really loud which could be heard through the window, but at no fault to the property - However made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. It's faster to take the stairs than using the lift, as there is only one. Room felt secure though. A lot of people coming in and out though, so I probably wouldn't recommend leaving your luggage at the front for too long.
We were family and we expected 1 bed and 2 bunkers but we got 4 bunkers which was unexpected. we have never in life stayed in such dormitories. no space no amenities no in room bathroom. All common for singles LIKE .

The room was good. Beds and linens were comfortable. The hotel is down an alley in the busy market. Nearly impossible for taxis to get to the hotel due to the crowded streets so we had to lug our super heavy bag (that the wheel broke off of) several blocks of crazy busy market.
Showers are in the basement. There is no toilet in the room. I wish this was more clear online but maybe I missed that.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Excellent location but filthy communal showers (there was a maxi pad on the floor and the entire shower and changing area was constantly covered in hairs). It was also extremely loud all day and night, even in a private room. You could hear every single sound from the hallway including the constant clicking sounds of people typing in their keypad entry codes. Lots of running and yelling in halls as well. There was also false advertising- they said that it was a private bath on the listing but it’s only the communal bathrooms. They only give you one towel per day that’s the size of a hand towel. The reception doesn’t open until 9am so I couldn’t get a towel one of the days when I needed to shower earlier than that. The only redeeming quality is the location.
This hotel is a great stay if you're looking for convenience! its right on the market and so shopping was easy, and well located for public transportation with a bit of walking. The Incheon airport is one of the worst in the world for proximity to the city centre (Seoul), around 1.5 - 2 hour bus ride - one way! If you plan to not visit Seoul just stay in one of those cozy fancy affordable hotels near the airport, but if you plan to explore Seoul stay close to downtown. I was shocked to see how far the airport was to Seoul city centre. Another pro is its cheap, and the rooms are simple and quiet. I found it comfortable for a hostel.
The con is the check in, which is basically either a phone with a Korean speaker on the other side who doesn't speak english, or a QR code on the inside of the door to check in with your phone. The other problem is the hotel itself is in an alley that gets darker the further you walk in it, i dont know why they don't just light up the alley to make it less scary. But Seoul is pretty safe, and there's lots of young people staying there so its not that much of an issue. it just looks scary. And if you arrive after 10pm to check in its a bit tricky to get in the hotel, not the funnest experience arriving with your luggage. To get around that just ask one of the people staying there as they walk in the hotel on how to check in.
